You may not always think it about yourself and I may not know you personally, but you are a good person, your macro interest and the stuff you write don't change that -- I think the way someone writes, in fact, reveals a great deal about the personality and human character behind the pen name, even without having a direct conversation. I think that reading someone's story is something like having an indirect conversation with the mind behind it -- the passion, or lack thereof, that is put into writing can greatly affect the reader's own interest, whether either party consciously knows it or not. They may just appear to be words on a screen - but really they're much more than that. They wouldn't be there, wouldn't hold any deeper meaning, if it weren't for the writer putting them all together.
Language is a beautiful and terrible thing, isn't it?
