Regidar recently posted a request for links to experimental fics. I decided to just add a bookshelf, Experimental, and list my favorite and my own experimental stories there. (My stories will probably appear first, because I added
That most-peculiar book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, describes in Fit the Fourth how representatives of the Amalgamated Union of Philosophers, Sages, Luminaries, and other professional thinking persons confronted Deep Thought, the second greatest computer in the universe, when it threatened to find the answer to
Lots of cons have panels where people read bad fan-fiction for laughs. But they never have panels where people read good fan-fiction. So I'm going to propose one, at every con I go to.
Horse breeders and show-people have been doing far longer.
The shampoo is too harsh for my fine, dry hair, but the conditioner is really nice; and nowhere near as heavily scented as human conditioners, which is also nice.
4532591 As much as I like the idea, I think I only tried it once at a friend's house, nearly that long ago.
Milk Bones fall into the same category. Maybe if I liked Nutella more I'd stock them here. They got nice crunchy bits of bonemeal innem. Nylabones are too much wear on my teeth which already do multiple tours of duty against the forces of Mountain Dew. I do love me some squeaky toys, but they'd drive the cat (fiance) mad.
Dog bowl: mainly for show, sadly. Dog collar? Yes, but it's been a while. I used to wear it outside all the time. Had something of a falling out with a large segment of the fandom, mostly from rumors that were greatly exaggerated, and the more conservative furs frown on public furriness in general. I think I wear it to Morphicon (now AnthrOhio) and the rare party where I'm not dressed up as something else altogether.
Funny story, I went insane a long time ago and then after the insane part I discovered that I had made a fursuit (catsuit style) while in crazy land. Like, free fursuit. Good times.
4532593 I got it because I heard it was gentler than most shampoo. Wouldn't it have to be, since animals can't wash it out of their eyes? Have I been misled? Do I have to go through 32 oz of harsh shampoo?
(also, I really like that it's not scented. Freakin' humans, putting smelly chemicals in everything.)
Huh. They stock that stuff at the grocery department store I work at. I think it might've been cheaper... maybe $10CAD? I forget. Mane and Tail has been suggested to me before, and I do have really long hair nowadays. Hmm... actually, nah. I still like using Johnson and Johnson lavender baby shampoo
4532613 When I was in high school, I used to wear a dog collar. Mostly cuz I was cheap as hell and didn't want to buy a fancy choker or something. I guess the even stranger part is that I got a metal pet tag with the online handle I was using at the time etched on it. And my phone number. So I wouldn't get lost? I really don't remember why. Dammit, I'm some sort of closet furry, ain't I?
Nutella is awesome. *is eating a jar of Nutella*
You made a fursuit, and then forgot you even made it. Hmm... you sure you made it? Maybe the memory you ended up forgoting was that you went on this GTA 5 rampage across the city and you ended up switching disguises along the way and that is now why you have a spare catsuit :3 lel
4532644 Yep, normal to see that in the shampoo aisle here, too. I wonder if it's a Canadian thing, or what? A lot of animal care supplies are popular for humans around here. Mane 'n Tail shampoo, Cow udder cream for hands and feet (I need that stuff to make it through the winter), etc.
4532696 I've seen that picture before, and it puzzled me. Admittedly, it's supposed to be wallpaper for a bedroom (I think), but some things jump out. 1) The horse is wearing a bridle, which indicates it is ready to go out or just came in. One would think this is supposed to be an early morning pic with the horse all ready to go and the bed owner trying to sleep in, and you don't leave the full bridle with a bit and reins on the horse overnight. A (whatever the name of the lightweight thingie the horse wears most of the time on his face that doesn't have a bit) maybe. 2) Seriously, a bird on the pillow. And one right above it in a nest. Doesn't the artist know that birds poop? 3) The perspective on the stable 'shutters' is all warped. Each of them is portrayed at about 2/3 of the window width, and would bonk the poor sleeper if opened up. 4) The concept of sleeping next to the horses is cute. The reality is flies and horse poo smell.
Determination: Good wallpaper, bad idea in real life.
4532632 Hey, it has to go somewhere. Just because it goes onto your back, changes color, and... ewww.
4532665 Udder cream is the best hand moisturizer ever. We use bag balm.
Adorable. I know furries who were doing this twenty years ago, just so you know.
...fine, and zoophiles
EDIT: there is no turning back now

That's very nice for those of us who are still PRIVILEGED WITH HAIR.
On the tops of their heads
I mean, ears and nostrils don't count, right?

Hmm...I do shower with my horses a lot...

Moisturizer-texturizer: when you don't just need relief from dry hair, you need bas-relief.
I mean
you may be bad, but you are still a horse.
I use Mane N' Tail all time; it's good stuff. I also have an actual horse.

Real Canadian Superstore?

She's just blending in. I let her look like normal on the weekends.
4532637
No, it's good stuff, I just have really crappy hair.
4532753
Don't have one of those locally, but dang near every major store around has 'em.

It fit me like a glove. A very tight OJ style glove, that is. Plus, I have bits of memory of serging the edges tighter and tighter.
Unfortunately, I needed to cut a hole for [redacted] in 2003, then I needed to widen the hole in 2007.
Also: yes you are a closet furry, as are a large proportion of bronies

You mean baa-relief.

You know, they make udder cream for humans.
All I'm getting from this thread is that Canada is an entire nation of furries, and you're exactly the honest businesspony your byline says you are.
I tried Nutella once. It's like nerd-poi.
