    April, with many a day…

So I just spent from the third through today (sort of, still have some driving to do) on holiday. Went to Dallas to see the Eclipse in totality, swung though Hot Springs for… well, the hot springs, and finally St Louis for a lovely riverboat dinner before bidding the Boyfriend farewell and starting the trip home.

    Well, I started it...

All Good Things... has commenced. I may have a chapter of it up tonight.

I really want to start closing out the unfinished stories, but sometimes you just can't get back into the flow for them. Sorceress and the Siren is one, Into the Wilds is another. Which is sad cause I love writing Azure.

    Homecoming, in retrospect.

Homecoming as a series is a glorious mess. I’ve gone on short bits of fluff, created some … unique ships, twisted the fabric of canon EqG, and even touched on some dark topics.

    Don't you just hate it...

When you can't find something when you need to?

Case in point, I went looking for a comment where they alluded to It being like Frodo saving the Shire for everyone but himself and had to sail to another land to find solace.

But I can't remember what fic or anything else.

    And it's frustrating to me.

    Meanwhile, in other news...

    For those wondering....

    I am working on Truth.

“What are you doing here?” Sunset stammered as she gazed at her father. Emotions swirled inside of her, a maelstrom of feelings. Confusion, certainly. Some anger, long-simmered and cooled into bitterness. A bit of joy, but just a tiny bit.

    Mostly confusion though.

Red rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s a long story,” he hedged.

A loose Timeline for Homecoming's Continuity · 5:00pm Feb 8th, 2017

For those wondering - and those not wondering but are bored - There is an established timeline for my Homecoming series, and some stories are concurrent with others, happening either during or later than another. I'll list them down as I have it plotted all the way through Chaos Theory and a little beyond (*tentative titles) and links for all as of the posting of this blog:

Equestria Girls - Fall Semester, early
Rainbow Rocks - Fall Semester, late ?
Friendship Games - Spring Semester, early/late ?
Legend of EverFree - Summer Break
Homecoming - Fall Semester, early/mid
At Night, All You Have Is... - one week after Homecoming
Mission of Mercy - Concurrent with At Night
In for a Bit, In for a Pound - One Week after At Night
The Wooing of Sunset Shimmer - Winter Break
Keeping Me Warm - One week after Wooing
Just Another Day - Six days after Keeping Me Warm
Ghosts - Five days after Just Another Day
Last Night of Winter Break - Four days after Ghosts
Raison d'Etre (Adagio) - Early spring
The Key and the Lock - Early spring
Raison d'Etre (Sonata) - Early/Mid spring
Cruising - Spring Break
Raison d'Etre (Aria I) - Concurrent with Cruising)
Raison d'Etre (Crossroads) - Three days after Aria
There's More That's Out There - A week after Cruising
Chaos Theory - Late Spring semester into Summer
Raison d'Etre (Moving Day*) - immediately after Chaos Theory, maybe a week after
Weddings* - Mid summer
Honeymoon* - Immediately after Wedding, probably only two or three chapters
Under the Leaves* - Mid-summer Appledash fluff, a month after the wedding
Amidst the Night* - Mid-summer Rarishy fluff, a month after the wedding

And that's about as far as I have ideas planned for, continuity wise. I am going to take a break from Cruising for a day or two and write out my little Valentine's Day stories since it's fast approaching. Seeing as how they are all going to be little flash fluffs, they will all be written and uploaded at once. They won't all be cannon with Homecoming, but cute little Heart's and Hooves day flickers. Obviously, there will be SunLight, AppleDash, and Rarishy, to be expanded upon later. I also have a little Octascratch and Starxie planned with their own unique dynamics, a Twuna (Pony) theory, and possibly something for Celestia, Discord and Pinkie (though not together) ;-). It all depends on how the writing goes.

And trust me, this is a lot cleaner and more legible than the white board I have in my writing room (also called my office, my bedroom, and my Sanctum Sanctorum) which has scribbled shorthand notes for my MLP stories, my original novel Warriors of Faith, my nascent ideas for Summer's Fury (another original novel), a shopping list, upcoming appointments for doctor and dental cleaning, staff meetings, shopping list from two weeks ago, and my cat's next vet appointment.

Oh, and a kitty smiley face. Mustn't forget that.

And for those of you concerned about the direction I took Aria, don't be. The first chapter of Aria is her own little At Night, All You Have Is. Aria II will lift her from the darkness, though it's a little dark in and of itself. Aria just strikes me as the kind that withdraws and tries to deal with problems on her own and winds up digging a deeper hole for herself in the process.

I will try and keep this updated from time to time.

Just a tidbit I discovered in the voice commentary for Rainbow Rocks—Meghan McCarthy is asked how much time passes between the first and second featurettes. Her response was a firm, immediate “Six months.” Since the first one revolves around the Fall Formal, six months later would place Rainbow Rocks in the spring; I suppose they wanted to avoid winter complications. I dunno if you want to incorporate that into your timeline, but I at least thought I should mention it in case you hadn’t encountered the information before.

Well, that certainly torpedos my early timeline...but then again, time seems kinda fungible in MLP. Season one alone seems to encompass two years.

Besides, that ignores the fact that everything else is my personal headcanon once Homecoming was ended.

Well, you can always move it to mid Spring for Rainbow Rocks and Friendship games end of Spring and leave everything else where it is.

Sweet Celestia, That's a lot of pony words! And in such a short time too. I added Homecoming to my RiL list based on the two sentence description in a "similar" list of another Sunlight ship I read. What the buck am I about to get into? :derpytongue2:

Nothing you don't want to get into. There isn't a required reading as I tried to make each story a standalone addition where it may reference earlier stories but you don't need to have read them for enjoyment of the later ones.

I hope I succeeded in that.
