    In case you missed it…

Someone asked me the other day why SciTwi’s nickname in Homecoming is Sunshine. In story, it was given to her by her grandmother, but both in story and out of story, it was really simple:

you are my Sunshine/my only Sunshine/you make me happy/when skies are gray

    State of the author

It’s now mid September, and there are a lot of things in the works for me.

I stepped down from the readership position at work that had me running 60-70 hour weeks just so I wouldn’t go mad. I’m set tingly back into a comfortable 35-40 hour weeks and can feel my energies recharging.

    Strike, fade, run

“Striking, fading and running. Each of these are three well used moves, my Lady.” Twilight spoke. “Most importantly, running.”

“Why would I run?” Rarity huffed, still bent over slightly and catching her breath.

    April, with many a day…

So I just spent from the third through today (sort of, still have some driving to do) on holiday. Went to Dallas to see the Eclipse in totality, swung though Hot Springs for… well, the hot springs, and finally St Louis for a lovely riverboat dinner before bidding the Boyfriend farewell and starting the trip home.

    Well, I started it...

All Good Things... has commenced. I may have a chapter of it up tonight.

I really want to start closing out the unfinished stories, but sometimes you just can't get back into the flow for them. Sorceress and the Siren is one, Into the Wilds is another. Which is sad cause I love writing Azure.

April, with many a day… · 2:18pm Apr 14th, 2024

So I just spent from the third through today (sort of, still have some driving to do) on holiday. Went to Dallas to see the Eclipse in totality, swung though Hot Springs for… well, the hot springs, and finally St Louis for a lovely riverboat dinner before bidding the Boyfriend farewell and starting the trip home.

I really feel better than I have in a while. Getting away from work and the constant texts and calls that come from being the general manager has really been good for me. My boss kept texting me on occasion - to my annoyance - but it wasn’t an hourly thing like it has been lately.

As such, I feel like I might have some energy to do some writing again. We’ll see what I can get done.

In light of all this, and Barcast ending this month as well, I think I’ll do some exit interviews if asked. I’d do the final Barcast if it wasn’t a Saturday where I tend to be trapped at work from 15.00-03.00 on average.

So, send me questions! Of any sort! I’ll answer to the best of my ability.

Also, Hot Springs was amazing and it really helped this old mare’s back.

Hey Rose, just reaching out to see how you are doing! Currently laid up in bed with some blasted gastric bug (and on my 15th wedding anniversary no less!) I hope life's going well for ya!

Oh, it’s going some sort of way. Drafting the ending of Homecoming while editing the second book of my original novel, and still trying to pry enough time out of the office to actually see the Wife and Boyfriend. I’ll be glad when I can return to 45 hour weeks instead of sixty+.

Sorry to hear about the bug! Those things are never fun.

Woof, definitely hoping you get some downtime soon to rest and recoup!
