The mountains were a disastrous and unpredictable place, the weather was wild, the animals were wild and there wasn't anyone up there to help you if you got hurt. A perfect place for an old unicorn to go and satisfy his ego. Nopony believed that he would be able to survive more than a month, let alone ten years. However, Brown hermit's solitude took a tole on him, he was lonely, he was half starved, and he was beyond happy.

No pony had attempted to go into the mountains unless they were doing it for sport or if they half-mad. Brown hermit had been officially proclaimed dead and all searches for the Stallion had stopped. The Crystal Empire had been Brown Hermit's previous home and his family had accepted his death as everyone else did in a family of Hermits, they shrugged.

Brown Hermit's life hasn't ended though, he may think he has accomplished everything, but he hasn't met a certain Pegasus.

Eris was tormented, tortured and haunted by the memories of her closest friends and allies being torn apart by the Son of Oryx, Crota. Eris witnessed them slain and was powerless to stop the destruction of her mind and the twisted memories of her friends haunt her, the horrors never left her due to Crota seeking her out in vain. Years she spent hiding and gathering information about the darkness that lurked below while her friends bodies decayed in the dust.

Shin Malphur, a guardian, legend, friend, was one of the six that went down, except he suffered a much different fate then the others. He had lived, something even the Son of Oryx hadn't anticipated to be possible. However, he wasn't in the Solar System, no, he was somewhere that defies all human physics, a place called Equestria. War has followed in his path.

you don't need to know anything about Destiny to enjoy this fic, it may make a few things clearer but its not required.

Desparatus, an earth pony father with a wife and three foals. The time period is the dark ages, not a good time to be an earth pony. Desparatus is running out of money and food fast so he gets himself caught up with illegal actions. However, his debt just gets higher no matter what he does and is eventually publicly exucuted. The Princess turns towards his eldest son and gives him ten years to pay off all the debt that his father had or his fate will be the same.

A young earth pony colt is confused and sad. He doesn't have his cutie mark and yet, he's past the average age of getting one. He doesn't know what he's in for or what he'll become. Will he be the famous hero or the infamous villain, how will he decide his fate? Only time and patience will bring him through to the other side in one piece.

EDIT: This probably isn't a comedy anymore but I'll keep it there. Also I added the two tags of gory and tragedy because thats basicaly what this story has turned into.
