After unexpectedly being freed during a Changeling invasion, Discord finds himself allying with the Queen of the Changelings and the Mare of the Moon. In a bid to weaken their enemies, they take the element of magic, Twilight Sparkle, as a prisoner. Twilight then finds herself becoming a pawn each of them wants to use to secure their own dominance.
Will she be able to resist these beings of darkness, or will she fall into the darkness herself?

Discord isn't much fun when you give him logical thought processes. I was kind of hoping for this to be from twilights perspective though. Also gives me an idea for a more comedic version of this where the three villains are all tripping over each others schemes to corrupt her.
You are amazing, this is great. I really want twilight to turn evil, unfortunately in all of the good stories where she turns evil she loses. I mean she just makes the perfect discordian what with how chaotic she is.

Have no fear. While I may portray Discord as being more thoughtful about what he does, I fully intend to make him a fun character. The only reason that he was so logical in this chapter is that I figured that he had just broken free and was weakened from being imprisoned. That and the fact that he had just been blasted by a powerful and unknown source of magic. I thought that his first priorty would have been to find somewhere safe to recover and try to figure out what happened. He'll be back to his old self within two, maybe three chapters.
Is this whole thing entirely from his perspective, or will it flip from villain to villain?

I'm going to have Perspectives switch when I feel that it's more appropriate to concentrate on another character. We'll be seeing what's happening from the three villains, Twilight, and the occasional chapter seeing what the Mane 6 are doing.

That's kind of a difficult question. There is no set final couple at this point, but I can tell you that Twilight will ultimately end up with one of the three Sovereign (That's what I'm calling the alliance of the three villains just for the record). I'll be paying attention to reader comments on who they'd like Twilight to end up with to make my final decision, so be sure to make your preferance known. On other couples, I'm probably going to be hinting at FlutterDash

Theres like 20 moonlights 10 discolights and like 5 chrys ships so im already happy shes being shipped with one of them. Have no fear. It shouldn't be much longer. Possibly by the end of the week, if not by the middle of the next. I found the first draft of the next chapter to be stiff and unsatisfactory, and as such, had to go back and rewrite the thing.
i like how you built up discord's feelings like that. i havent seen anyone relate lesson zero to discord and that actually makes sense too. didnt think of how twilight caused chaos on a city spread level. Cant wait to see how Nmm comes into play

So as a result, I have to open another document to type all this stuff down, there by distracting me from writing. Considering that Discord seems to be more powerful than Celestia, I don't think it's unreasonable that he would be able to conceal his escape long enough for Season 3 to start. I'd say go for it! (Also, how do you plan on bringing in Nightmare? Is she a separate entity from Luna, or just a different personality?) Either way, can't wait for the next chapter!

Funny story about that actually. I had originally left the story open in case I wanted to add Sombra to the alliance. After seeing him in the season three premier though, I dropped that idea.
I will admit though, Sombra does have a small role to play in this.
