A good end to the summit.
Griffin's in Playmare!
"Oh ya bby slide those pants/trousers on!"
*fapfapfapfap*
6904461 The way they hug those curves, it's like they're squeezing you all over. I can see every line, every muscle, defined by those tight pants.
Or, perhaps, the sense of relaxation and being laid back that comes with a pair of slacks.
Or the strong denim of jeans that are tough and rugged, like the person wearing them.
Or maybe the... (insert here)
It's part of why Rarity doesn't want anyone to see her get dressed (even though it's mostly a front covering) despite the fact, which Applejack points out, they don't normally wear clothes. The act of getting dressed.
A griffins work is never done.
6904450 He's in Playcolt!
"Hung like a Zebra and twice as muscly!"
Blackwing, you need to make a side story about Discord and Seth's babysitting antics.
I'll leave it to you to figure out who is babysitting who.
i'm a bit disappointed at the way griffin sorted out the issue with Fia.
Going for child number two?
So he beat the person who had to fight aloen for a thousand eyars, likely often against monsters and evil overlord wananbes, lost to your character?
Do i relaly have to say more about this? This simply doesn't work. Especially considering you made this world all the more vilent, meanign these conflicts would be that aggressive as well. Or at least comparably.
Celestia has a thousand years of political experience, and has fought likely dozens of threats, both with luna and alone, over the millennia. She has the attributes of all three pony tribes as well.
Also suffocation would be extremely painful and would take a long time to happen.
What is this a crossover of?
6904707 Not if you only suck out the oxygen. Ever hear of carbon monoxide? People go to sleep and die. They don't even know they're dying until they're dead. Also, as has been stated NUMEROUS times, there was a thousand years of PEACE. As in NO rampaging monsters, NO evil overlords, (wannabe or otherwise). Until Nightmare Moon came back, everything was quiet. Both in my story, and in the MLP universe as a whole, this is stated. You're operating on the assumption that because I made the world harsh and scary that there was a thousand years of that. There was not. Up until the point of Griffin's insertion, which coincided with Discord's release, everything was precisely the same as in the standard universe.
I cannot express the sheer number of times it has been stated in Falling Feathers, Griffin the Griffin, and the standard, canon MLP universe that Celestia has been sitting bored on her rump because for a thousand years, literally NOTHING HAPPENED.
*sigh* If it really bothers you that much, nobody is forcing you to read the story.
6904758 It's not a crossover. Other than Aoi's minimal presence.
6904758 its not a crossover its a sequel to griffin the griffin
6904605 So am I, to be honest, but it just doesn't make sense in logical terms to have them go warmongering on each other.
Basically, Griffin has to suck it up and seethe in rage quietly, wanting very much to have his revenge but knowing that only bad things would come of it. He has more important things to think about, like his son, and for the sake of his family, he can't go off on a warpath again. I mean, sure, it would be FUN to have them beat the tar out of each other, but it simply doesn't make sense for that.
I kind of hinted at that with Fia getting herself ready for a throw down, then thinking better of it considering where they were. In fact, a lot of times I find myself using Fia as a mirror for Griffin, with her externalizing a lot of what he internalizes and denies himself.
He would never admit it, but he'd love to run out and cake himself in the blood of his enemies. Which is why as a character device, Fia admits it of herself.
6904846 which does not work because its clear both issues are a rather major constant.
especially after all the conflicts that keep on happening a thosuand years ago. they just so happen to stop after luna was sent to the moon? very implausible.
especially because you have it that there is still a strong capacity for violence despite a thousand years.
6904869 Promise me that the bitch gets whats coming at some point please?
Congratulations, the peace summit was a success, the country, and building is still standing.
Griffin and Gilda get more alone time? Where Photo finish and the next Spread when they want to corrupt the next generation with more fruitful details?
Discord got told 4 hours to bring Seth back, but, Lord Of Chaos, Time and Space And Relative Dimentions. he can Run with this, Forever.
6904875 I dunno, I mean, having your populace slaughtered, your people's faith in you shattered, and your adoptive father killed before your eyes by a murderous psychopath, all because you just wanted to make a better life for your people but went about it in the wrong way, and having to be rescued by someone you were pretty sure was on their way there to kill you... I mean, kinda traumatic?
The entire point behind Fia was not that she was some evil villain. Sure, she has a bad streak, but so does Griffin. Fia's position was understandable. She's absolutely not the hero of the story, but Griffin isn't either. They've both been on the wrong end, and sit in a kind of grey area. Again, they're a mirror for one another. Don't you think they've both suffered enough?
And of course, they will never forgive one another. There's too much bad blood. Again, as a character device, Fia serves as a representation of Griffin's own self loathing, an external figure he can focus it on. Allowing her to have her own happy ending (In Ubi's caring arms) while letting him quietly fume, while he's happy and has his son, with her angry at his own happiness.
6904870 Celestia's reputation after defeating Igor Redwing held any threats to Equestria at bay. I mean, they were a powerful, warrior culture and she beat them!.... and then sat on her ass for a thousand years because there was nobody else to fight.
And, in case you forgot, before Luna was sent to the moon there was Sombra and the crystal empire, and IMMEDIATELY before that, there was Discord, and immediately before that, Tirek. So short a time span between them that Tirek and Discord actually know each other on a personal basis. There was absolutely SO MUCH havoc during that very short time period a thousand years before, it only makes sense that there'd be a thousand years of peace. Are you kidding? You're telling me that disasters of THAT SCALE were occurring on an every week basis for a thousand years? There wouldn't be anything LEFT of Equestria. This story would be set in the friggin Fallout Equestria universe, and even that would be more peaceful than what you're describing.
And implausible? You're talking about a universe filled with magic talking ponies! It's certainly more plausible than six people who never met each other being predestined to become best friends after a single day, and that their fragile friendship would be enough to harness the overwhelming power of six magical artifacts to defeat an ancient evil that emerged on that very day.
Mom: Hey son, what do you want for dinner?
Me: Spaghetti.
I didn't lie, so I'm clearly the element of honestly.
6904911 That's true i guess. Ok let me re-define my earlier statement. By get whats coming to her i don't mean bloody death and vengeance. What I mean is the actions she partook in have effects on her ability to led, her people's wish to be lead by her, and her personality in general. She seems to be completely remorseless in this regard while griffin seems to have a small amount (that's the gist i got anyway)
In other words i would like to see her get political ramifications because of her actions regarding what happened. I don't know about you but i wouldn't want to be led by someone who had just screwed up as badly as her.
Also on another topic. the whole Celestia reading X's mind and finding out about griffins plans seems like a bit of a cop-out. but I understand if its required to move the plot forward.
Then again i might be reading this all wrong.
6904925 Its called suspension of disbelief. I can suspend the disbelief that this is a world full of magic and colorful ponies, yes. and i can accept that there will be some weird concept because of it. Even silly ones.
Here the disbelief is broken by the fact that there is often some amount of conflict in equestria. Minuscule by our standards, but there are always those watching and waiting. In the show itself of all things, the kid cartoon with the magic horses and gryphon peoples.
Taht characteristic makes it feel more like a world, a touch that lets people get inspired by it and make their own stories even.
so basicaly in the show itself there has not been absolute peace, a touch of realism to the fantasy elements. So its hard to accept that was the case here.
Also would like to note that we have no idea how spaced the events from a millenia ago are. It well could be twenty years seperate the discord incident from the tirek one, and maybe even fifty years to the sombra one. Thousand years ago is a vague statement used to state how ancient the event was without an exact date. Largely we all know those incidents were before nightmarem oon and luna's banishment, and that is all.
6904985 Well, I mean, it was stated before that she does have that ability, and, I agree, as I said I didn't exactly like using it as the way to move forward, but it was necessary for the plot point, and it was something that was stated in the previous story. After all, Luna can get into people's dreams, Celestia can see into their minds, if they haven't guarded themselves. It was required in the sense of Celestia not being a total moron in terms of politics or economics, and given that it had been used previously, I made it work.
Ah, that ending. Looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work. Deus tecum.
6904997 I am well aware of what suspension of disbelief is. What gets me is you can suspend your disbelief on that, but not on this? I will admit, no story is flawless. At the same time, no character is flawless either, and as far as the show goes, it paints Celestia as this flawless person.
For letting Luna fall into despair, for not believing Twilight about Chrysalis, does she ever even apologize?
Oh hey Luna, sorry I neglected you for several months/years so you'd get possessed by an evil spirit, and then tried to cure your affliction, caused by loneliness, with a thousand years of solitude? Oh, hey Twilight, Sorry I didn't believe you when you said something was wrong with the person you spent your entire childhood with and know extremely well.
No. She just brushes it off like she was right all along, as if she knew what was happening and took the backseat to let Twilight overcome it and grow as a person. And as difficult as it may be to believe Celestia being set as a push over, I had to give her SOME kind of flaw, otherwise she's quite simply TOO perfect.
Of course there could have been minor things occurring over the course of a thousand years, but none of them on the scale of Nightmare Moon, Discord, Sombra, or Tirek. By comparison, anything that happened while Celestia alone ruled Equestria would have been downright meager, (otherwise it would have been mentioned) and even her just showing up would have the opposition fleeing.
6904985 As for Fia's ability to lead, she is a spokesperson in Aoi's group, but he's the leader now. She Colonel Custer'd her people, and they had to be bailed out by an external force. Aoi allowed her to speak on his behalf because she had a personal investment in the topics being discussed.
Lets not forget that in a predominately patriarchal society, she was one of the only female leaders. Even 'Blue' from Marble Pillars shares her lead with two other rulers, who are men, and really, the ruling caste is selected by a trio of dragons. She was likely an inspiration to her people for being a strong, independent person, (despite her reliance on Ringo, what can I say? He raised her.) She made everyone, regardless of genetic disposition, gender, or ability, an equal, to be treated fairly. She came from nothing as an orphan child destined to become a concubine and rose all the way to the top.
Many of her people question her judgement now, considering she allowed herself to be manipulated, and defiled herself to do so, and now bows to someone else, a guy of all things.
That, and don't expect the New Dominion to be doing Gem Fido any favors. In fact, this may well drive a wedge between Griffin and Aoi, and cause some tension later on.
6905037 There is a difference between her being flawed and her being incompetent. Most people cross the line into incompetence, and this tory seems to lean more towards that.
Pretty sure i remember her apologizing to twilight for not believing afterwards. More so though, Celestia's attention was divided the entire time. Between the wedding and an unknown enemy threatening equestria at the same time. Celestia has a hard time focusing on too much at once.
As for the luna situation, i have a feeling that it wasn't as simple as celestia neglecting her sister. There was likely some kind of fissure that formed between them. And luna is not guitless of it. She let the darkness in, and she lost control of her actions because of it.
there are ways to give a character flaws rather than making them incompetent.
I have to say I love how you wrapped this up, nicely done my friend nicely done, but I have a little suggestion when you had Griffin talking to celestia about his "hidden ability" (which who ever been paying attention to the story should know what it is) you should have added a little joke on how certain powerful ponies could be a threat if they controlled their ability to go super saiyain when greatly angered although she wouldn't get it but still that would have been hilarious (I think the term for that is called a flare don't quote me on that though).
6904870 dude. Your a fan of mlp tell me Was anything in the show happening before nightmare? NIEN because there WAS (follow the keyword here) peace
6905112 as for Celestia seeming Incompetent. I have a tendency to believe she is at times
*taps you on the shoulder* That's what the PMs are for, BlackWing, that's what they're there for....
6904530 Playcolt? So he's actually female ?
Because 'colt' = 'boy', Playcolt would be the equivalent of playboy
Lol.
"Gilda, I'm in a naughty magazine, aren't I?"
...
...
...
...
i had a thought something like this would happen but not at this time
6904925
that video though
We all love you. You know that, right, mate? We complain because we care. It's not JUST because it looks like something is happening that we don't like. There were several parts to this fic and several other CHessverse fics that I didn't like, but we stuck with them and read them anyway, didn't we? About the only thing I DON'T like period about the Chessverse is that so few of the fics I practically fell in love with aren't being updated anymore.
6904904
And Twilight was called Toilet Sparkle due to pretend mispronunciation.
Noooooo; i caught up!
SIX YEARS WHAT THE HELL i wa im i dont please for the love of god tell me how SIX FUCKING YEARS HAVE GONE BY
6926734 I'm just going to leave this here in the hopes he replies the answer to me as well.

6926826
Griffin was trapped inside hell/tartarus for like, 2-3 years, and the photoshoot was a year or two before the whole Ancientwall shit. Then he was back for a year before this whole thing, and you get roughly six years. For some reason, despite not reading from the beginning since July of last year, I can still remember major plot points and/or major events/ jokes.
6926995 I thought he was in the hell well for 6 months.
6927851 Nope. Almost all of the time he was in hell, and then for a little bit he was roaming the swamp.
6928060 No, he was in hell for 7-8 months, and another 3 in the swamp. The story is literally just that long.
6951796
It gets explained, and we were WAY off. I nearly shat bricks at the reveal.
Friendly word of advice, link to the previous story.

More. Plz
7022737 There's a very good reason for the delay, I'll tell you once the event has passed.
