Congrats on the quick feature.
Loving the story, and can't wait for the next update.
Good news Blackwing! The restraining order you had on me was rescinded and I've returned to watch you once more. For every waking hour until the story is complete. Always watching. Even when we're sleeping, I'm watching. Waiting.
Oh, I'm also looking forward to the next chapter and enjoyed this one.

Evil bastards can really abuse the arena dual principle.
First evil rule of nature. Prey on the old, sick and weak. They cant fight back. Which means they can be tormented and terrorised without restraint. Pass laws? Welcome to the lawyers.
I kind of like how the ending was decided upon. A challenge was forced to be made so there would be the least amount of consequences and in the end, someone decided to give them mercy. Also no potential chance of them escaping from murder unless they plan ahead.
I am just glad you've kept going. I really enjoy reading this and can't wait to see how it all comes together.
I know this is supposed to be a chapter indicting his rule and all that but grammatical errors make it harder to read. Remove the second " in the first part and remove both " from the second part to make it more readable.
Anyway nice chapter that shows just how the New Dominion is running.
6681278 Oops, the 'Please explain the situation' wasn't supposed to be in there at all. Brain fart. I don't have an editor because my readers are my editors.
6681142 Oh, there will be a case of that as well, and the law will be changed allowing people to choose someone to fight as their representative, if they accept. There will be considerations for the elderly and infirm. The law clearly states that arena duels will be FAIR fights. Dueling someone who can't fight back is hardly fair.
Also, Griffin intentionally made a show of this to be an example. The idea is that grudges from the past can get settled. If something happens now that creates a new grudge, it'll probably be against the existing law.
Like harassing someone to try and make them duel you, when they haven't done anything to incur a grudge. Besides, they can't actually DO anything to you other than call you a coward. They can't hurt you, they can't leave nasty messages, all they can do is call you a coward for not fighting them. At that point you have to have a bit of a thick skin. Sure, you're a coward, but you're alive.
If anyone remembers, Griffin has called himself, and his entire crew, cowards on numerous occasions. "We're not honorable. We're pirates."
6681402 Ah that makes sense. If I find anymore errors I'll tell you.
That was fun, may I have another? Looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work. Deus tecum.
You ever see the Mad Max movie Beyond Thunderdome w Tina Turner? A man takes his chances with The Law ...
2 men enter, one man leaves!
In one of his less known books (ICR which) Heinlein makes the point that a society w a Code Duello is a polite society. I point to the Wild West (19th century) & recent Somalia as examples of how well that works. One thing he suggested is requiring a badge for those who won't duel.
Oh my god... That ending was perfect.
Good ending... For a moment I was thinking that Griffin was going to need to talk with Celestia... But soon or later he is going to need to have a talk for the teachers... Maybe even with Twilight.
I was wondering if and when any past animosity from old wounds would ripple into the dominion. And the solution Griffin laid own fits so well with his character.
I'm curious though, what happens if the person who was wronged is unable to fight? Like what happens if, say, a blind / crippled griffin wan't justice served on the dog that blinded / crippled him?
Yeah, it has been depressing lately. I remember the days of adventure, and I miss those days.
Geeze, I sound liek an old man!

Wonderfully executed, looking forward to more killer moments like these. You made ruling a kingdom as bone crushing as it should be, you can't believe how many authors spare their kings these responsibilities.
I think he means you, BlackWing^^
The answer Hades Griffins dad
the story keep it up
6684528 Granddad.
6689562 Well when you consider the vast majority of the chessverse stories are dead...
6693639 What?
Seth suddenly starts teaching magic to the rest of the world. greatest mage around. GG
6693687 they meant that they read from the 86th chapter of the story before this one all they way to the 72nd chapter in a binge reading
6697976 yeah. Most of them got shot to hell before the remainder got caught.
6722304 .... Clearly not. If you pick a corner, you have 1 win condition horizontally, 1 win condition vertically, and 1 win condition diagonally. If you pick the middle you have 1 horizontal, 1 vertical, and 2 diagonal, which is 4. Choosing a corner only grants you three, and choosing a side only grants you two.
If I open with a corner, you take middle, then i take opposite corner. If you take a corner at this point, I win, but if you take a side, then i have to take a side, then you take a corner and it's a tie.
I've been binge reading for the past week. I look down at the end of the chapter and thiers no 'next chapter' button. Part of me is screaming nooooooooo where's the rest? And the other part of me is screaming finally I am free of my curse! You, sir, write a damn compelling story. You have my applause. It has its flaws, I'll give ya that, but overall it's awesome.

And with release of more chapters, the author fed your addiction.*evil laughter*
