Griffin is a Demigod? Not only that, but his Grandfather is Hades himself? The god of Death?
There are no words to truly describe this, so I'll leave it up to a better man than I:

Well... that was... wow. Kind of emotional.
Just a quick question... Griffin's child name, Seth (as one of the ancient gods of death) is intentional? Because if it isn't, it is a weird-awesome coincidence.
I had some ideas about his. But when you read it, It's still AWESOME!
I can see Griffins Face:

4123969 The proper term is "legacy". He's the son of a demigod.
i would say this is the

moment but lets face it the shark was jumped from chapter 1... and i love it
Anyone else imagine Hades as Loki?
AWWWWW YEAAAAaaaa... Now you just need Percy Jackson to show up somewhere xD
I I I I... Wat?
side note wouldn't Hades be griffin's Great grandfather
Hades> Macaria> Griffin's father (Henry Petras)> Griffin North (Griffin Petras)
An Ć¼bergodly MC as we like then!
All hail Griffin Petras!
4123969 Actually Hades is his great grandfather.
Also Griffin and Ace need to meet now. They can start the Demigod chess piece club.
4124003 Completely not intentional. I didn't even know.
4124083 Yes, it is 'great grandfather' but since Griffin didn't know his grandfather, he doesn't need to add the 'great' to make the distinction.
4123969
Technically, Hades is Griffin's great grandfather, since Macaria is his Grandma. Speaking of, is Griffin going to meet his Grandma?
You just blew my mind with that revelation.
4124171 Possibly, later on in the story. Possibly not. Haven't really decided.
stupid good author...I just wanted to check something on FiMFiction and now I have to read your update, because the story and writing are so damn good! I hope you keep this up you dick, 'cause otherwise I'll reorganize my priorities!
what the fuck did i just read. Like, i didnt really expect this, and while it really works in the universe, looking at you wild card, i am still shocked you went with it
4124243 I actually had this planned for a LONG time, even before Wild Card came out with it. And no, we didn't plan it together, though the idea was thrown around the IRC chat room a bit.
4124252 If you both came up with the idea separately, but used it in the same universe, then i applaud you. Cause that's really damn good luck to have separate ideas that follow the same rules in the same fictional universe. Either way, I'm glad you did this, it really works.
4123969
God of the Underworld, not god of death. The god of death is Thanatos
4124286
Oops, my bad. guess my Greek mythology is a bit rusty
4124294 Holy shit that was a fast replay
Shy must you taunt me with such short chapters?
Ahem. Hercules is what the name of Zeus's bastard son became after the Romans got ahold of the story. In the original story, he was named Heracles, which translates roughly to "Hera's Glory".
4124430 Yes he was renamed Heracles in a failed attempt to pacify her, but he's most commonly known as 'Hercules' even though that was the Roman take on the story, and that's the name everyone remembers.
4124477
The problem for me is that the Greek gods are using the Roman name. This is a personal thing for me, but I think you should stick with one source when it comes to names, not mix-and-match.
At least mention that everyone knows Zeus's son as 'Hercules' instead of 'Heracles'.
4124497 "who gave birth to a boy who came to be known as Hercules."
Came to be known as
By stating 'came to be known as' rather than 'who's name was' It implies that Hades is referring to the most popular pronounciation and spelling of the name for Griffin's benefit.
4124514
I just woke up. My brain isn't functioning at full capacity. Sorry.
4124518 No probs.
Being related to Gods only ever brings troubleā¦.But I'm sure Celestia will be interested to learn this.
This...was unexpected, but it explains some of Griffin's powers.
As much as divine birthers fill me with rage, I can't help but like this one. Dammit
4124648 To be honest I was kind of expecting that for a while.
4124804
I sure wasn't, but it sure does explain a lot.
What... What? WHAT!?!
4124776 That's because despite being a 'demi'- demigod, Griffin gets almost nothing out of it.
I like this. Normally this would cause me to hit myOP as hell button. But dude, ya made it work.
So... let me get this straight, Griffin is related to one of the Greek gods of old. And not just any god, but the god of death himself.
Normally, I would call Griffin a stu at this point, but this story and the one before it are just so friggin' awesome, all I can say is this:
Damn...
Wait so my psyco theory I thought could never be right it right man I wish I can say I didn't expect this, but it actially happening blows my mind. So is Atran going to be the baby's new body guard assigned by Hades that would be the best if it happens.
Since Giffs grandpa is the freaking king of the underworld, will we be seeing Trixie again?
4124853 Thanks for that, I know my feelings, but I just don't always have the words for them.
4124929 No, you.
Damn.. How the fuck is it so adorable... He meets the god of death and it is just really adorable. Like come here lil one give gran' pappy a hug and it is just kinda happy.
So when does Griffin murder more people? Cause this adorable stuff is kinda lowering my guard from the stuff that just happened.
yay i like this explaination, kinda make sense with the whole theme really.
hades- "Griffin as a sorry gift for what you've been through im upgrading your human form"
griffin-
hades- "Ah so much like me, look at him yell at everyone, he got that from me"
also to everyone calling hades the god of death, he isnt. He is the god of the underworld, Thanatos is the god of death
You know, until this chapter Griffin was just a mortal. A really badass mortal, but still a mortal. That meant anything he could do someone else could also do in theory. He was a roll model to all (most) of the little guys in the world who had to live under godlike beings, super-sapients (superhuman, superequine, etc.), and monsters of legend.
Now he's a demigod and all that is dust in the wind.
I'm not sying this was a bad choice at all, I'm just making sure your aware of the ramifications.
4125131 Yeah, Hades isn't the god of 'death' he's the god of 'THE dead' as in AFTER you kick the bucket, not while.
4125104 yeah, Disney's Hercules was pretty much a great big 'fuck you' to the proper mythology.
4125146 Griffin is still a mortal, and the ramefications of being a descendant of a god will be made clear in the next chapter. Mainly, 'You're the descendant of a god. Congrats. Considering how much the Olympians slept around, a quarter of Earth's population has god blood in them from SOMEWHERE, it's just so diluted that it has pretty much no effect.
