Flash Sentry's first try as a trainer was marred by mistakes and ended in tragedy. After a time of coming to terms with this, at least to the point he's ready to try again, this young man enrolled in Uva Academy with the ultimate goal of one day meeting an old friend on even footing.

Spike Armor is just now old enough to truly enter the world of pokemon with hopes of one day beating his champion older brother. A goal just as important to him is finding out why his sister had to move to Sinnoh for the last 18 months.

Even though she's back now, no one in his family is telling him anything. He does know the answers lie with Team Star, but he is unaware of how his sister connects to them. As such, to meet both goals, he has enrolled in Uva Academy.

Now, two trainers shall cross paths as they embark on a journey across Paldea. Between gyms, Team Star, and Titians, there is more than enough adventure to be had. Especially when they happen upon two peculiar pokemon not long into the start of their journey.

Sweet. A Paldea story. I wouldn't even mind being a minor character if it meant experiencing the vast landscape of Paldea.

11769033
Well, I can't guarantee this will become a full story, but I'm clearly never against OC's. PM me your idea if you'd like to.

now this is gonna be fun to read.

11769052
Potentially. I make no promises on weather this will continue at his point.

11769056
well i hope it'll do well dude. good luck.

So which school did Spike and Flash in? Orange or grape (purple)?

What did Flash even do to "screw up" so badly!? It's not like he lost any of his Pokemon, respect, or friends in that first journey, right!?

11769161
The grape one.
11769254
Well, things were at least good for a bit into his first journey. Then they started to spiral big time. This chapter alludes to it. For instance, Brendan is holding two of Flash's Pokemon.

In that letter, the guy asked his friend to keep seeing about getting them a better trainer. The letter also alludes to conflict arising between himself and May & Brendan.

Then, there's the picture of himself and Blaziken with an empty pokeball before it, which Flash does look at sadly. Can't forget Somnambula worrying about him, and his thought when getting Quaxly

11769359
Ah, the future one. Hope one of them get the Miraidon. I wonder who gets the Koraidon?

Well, now I am interested in this. I got Pokemon Violet myself. Ceruledge was the deciding factor.

So Flash's first journey seemed to start off well...but things happened, leading him to make mistakes, hurting his bonds with his friends, and ultimately losing his Starter. At least Metagross and Flygon still have faith in him and want to return to him. He just needs to learn to forgive himself. Seems like this Treasure hunt will be what he needs. And he chose Quaxly as his starter.

And cool. Spike is here too...with Fuecoco. And Twilight and her friends are Team Star? Cool. I wonder what type of Pokemon each one specializes in. And given the backstory for Team Star, I wonder how things went back then.

Hm...if both Koraidon and Miraidon are here, I can see spike getting the Former while Flash gets the latter.

As for Sunset...I'm guessing she takes up Arven's role here?

As for me...I have some serious catching up to do in Pokemon Violet. Indigo Disk is just a week away!

11769451
Ceruledge is one cool pokemon. Almost makes me wish I'd chosen Violet; however, I personally liked all the past paradox pokemon over the futuristic ones. Don't get me wrong, the robot aesthetic never bothered me, but the past ones just called out to me more making my game Scarlet.

Flash's prior story is one meant to be fleshed out as the journey progresses, but you've picked up on the basics. As for Quaxly, it's coloring does fit aesthetically with Flash, blue hair and blue pokemon. It's also based on a dancer while here Flash does have his guitar meaning they could perform together in the future.

Since I'm planning on collapsing Scarlet and Violet's stories together, a deuteragonist was essential with Spike feeling like the ultimate choice. With me personally thinking Sprigatito just fits Nemona, it's left the fire starter. To me, that rings the starter of either Spike or Pinkie for this story. Given Pinkie already has her role, it was easy to put Spike there.

I'm not even going to hide from you that yeah Sunset is taking on the Arven role.

As someone who is a BIG Pokemon fan I 100% approve and looking forward to this take of your mlp x Pokemon crossover.

Now, seeing the summary and that you answer to confirm this theory, Sunset is taking the role of Arven.

Now there is the BIGGER question.. who will take the role of Sada and Turo?

Seeing how they’re Arven’s Mother and Father of the game, and the most sense would be Celestia taking the Role of Sada. But not sure about Turo

11769494
Eh, they could also just be Sada and Turo. We'll see once so get to their true introduction. If I were going to make them Mlp characters, It'd either be Celestia and Sombra or Celestia and Discord.

You know what, you'll actually know earlier that their introduction if Mr. Jaq is replaced by Luna. I know in game Jaq obviously has no relation, but If I go MLP characters, there could be more tragedy with Luna losing her sister.

At the same time, it'd give Sunset a living family member in the end.

11769510
Yeah, that sounds like a nice route to take for this

And true, at least Sunset will be able to have a family member to be with at the end

11769359

Hopefully in later chapters, we will see what really happened in full detail.

11769536
It's meant to be a tale that trickles out as the story progresses, so details will come.

I just now realized that the Human Six ( Rainbooms) are a part of Team Star!? And Sunset was once apart of them too?

Aren't any "Team" group in Pokemon the bad guys!!!??? Why are the seven girls even in that new Team Star "Group"!?

11769758
Nope, Sunset is taking over the Arven role. As for Team Star, they aren't exactly the bad guy's per say. The worst Team Star does is harass other students, block off some roads, and ditch school. They are also accused of being bullies; however, Team Star was originally founded to and got rid of the academy's prior bully problem.

The only reason the school doesn't know about it is twofold. One, the deputy director, at the time, pinned everything on Team Star as the instigators. Two, the director, at the time, saw that man fired, and he along with every teacher resigned for failing to provide a secure environment for the students. By the time the story picks up, it's a whole new staff who doesn't have the whole picture.

This leads to Clavell being Clive to get that story before resorting to expulsions. In the story, Penny actually took the fall, as the deputy still got his way in laying the blame on Team Star, so she was the only one 'punished' back then. In reality, the prior director sent her to Galar to get her away from everything.

This is what led to the heads of each Team Star Squad ditching school because they wanted their friend back. Granted, they never met Penny directly, only knew her as Cassiopia. To each of them, Penny was their greatest treasure, and they continued to head Team Star in her absence. In conclusion, it's more misguided children if anything truly maliscious.

Never thought to see Pokemon make a very huge misunderstanding and be greatly confusing at the same time?

At least it's better than most of the villainous teams in Pokemon Media.

Heck, Team Skull, technically the "half" of Team Plasma and the Aether Foundation, and Team Yell aren't "totally pure evil" too.

11770124
Yeah, it's been a huge trend lately where the teams aren't exactly evil. Just for me personally, I like Team Star best out of that trend.

huh. guess Flash will have a handful with that big dog.

11770235

Most are still evil, just not the ones more recently which begun in Generation 7/Alola.

Very nice!

And interesting for you to have Flash catch the houndoom and have it his own version of Ash’s Chairzard of the story

11770285
Scarlet & Violet did present the opportunity. I just decided to roll with it.

I was surprised Flash caught Houndoom, but she will be a decent addition to his team once he proves his strength to her.

And the two met Koraidon and Miraidon. I wonder who will be partnered with who.

I also wonder if both of them will catch Charcadet and evolve them into their respective forms. As well as what Pseudo Legendaries they will catch. Technically, Flash already has one, but they are back in Hoenn. Did Flash have more than Blaziken, Metagross, and Flygon on his team back then?

And I am curious as to what typing you plan for each of the Mane 6 Team Star members to specialize in.

11770288
I recommend this order of medals from the Paldea region for your story:

1) Gym Leader of Bug Type.
2) Dominant Pokemon of Rock Type.
3) Gym Leader of Plant Type.
4) Dominant Pokemon of Flying Type.
5) Sinister Group of Team Star.
6) Gym Leader of Electric Type.
7) Fire Group of Team Star.
8) Dominant Pokemon of Steel Type.
9) Gym Leader of Water Type.
10) Venom Group of Team Star.
11) Gym Leader of Normal Type.
12) Gym Leader of Ghost Type.
13) Gym Leader of Psychic Type.
14) Dominant Pokemon of Ground Type.
15) Gym Leader of Ice Type.
16) Fairy Group of Team Star.
17) Fight Group of Team Star.
18) Dominant Pokemon of Dragon Type.
19) South Area Lighthouse Challenge.
20) Supreme Leader of Team Star.
21) Pokemon League.

11770988
I’m trying to think of which member of the Mane 6 could fit as the leaders of each Star Group.

These are my theories.

Rarity leads the Poison Group.

Fluttershy leads the Fairy Group.

Rainbow Leads the Fire Group.

Applejack leads the Fighting Group.

And Pinkie leads the Dark group.

I could be wrong though.

11769773
I'd actually make a separate team that is the evil ones that want revenge and want to use the ruinous quartet for their plans.

Awesome! Another update and two new captures! I was surprised that you gave Flash Koraidon and Spike Miraidon. Is that personal preference? Or more symbolic? Like how Flash’s stuck in the past?

I did like your choice of Pokémon for Sunset. It makes sense given what her goal is.

I find it a bit ironic that Spike’s first capture is a Fidough, a fairy type given his Dragonic aesthetic. But it’s still cool and he made a new friend. And hopefully Ralts will help Flash heal along the road.

As for Shadow…he’s likely talking about the Four Sealed Pokémon. I wonder how you will expand him and then during the story, as it seems like he’s part of his own faction.

I’m also curious which of the Mane 6 sans Twilight you plan to assign to which Star squad. Like what type they will be.

this is getting strange now. hopefully a new friend will help them out.

11771777
You are right in why I gave Koraidon to Flash; however, there is one other reason on why I decided to give him the prehistoric legendary. It'll probably become clearer the more pokemon Flash acquires, and their subsequent evolutions that follow. If not then, it'll become more than apparent as the story progresses.

thank you.

Actually, Spike's first capture was Pawmi.

As for Shadow Lock and the Four Sealed Pokemon, I got plans.

As for the Humane 5, I've come up with the best-case scenario from the available types. After all, every type is represented by a specialist, except for one. The rock type only really has Klawf to represent it while the other four titain pokemon have the Elite Four reping their types. Of course, Arven, Nemona, and Geeta all had a rock type, but there was no sole rock specialist.

As such, one of my goals in this story is to ensure that every type specialist is repped by one person, which effectively gave me one type more to work with. What I will say is that one of the Humane 5 is now a rock specialist while the other four take from the five reamining types. The reamining one form that list will go to a different character who I have plans for.

11771788
Cool. If that’s the case, then it’s possible Flash will be getting more Pokémon that are empowered by Sunny Day. Like Ceruledge and Solar Blade for example.

Ah, right. I forgot about Pawmi. But now each of them has 3 Pokémon. Looking forward to more additions to their team.

And I have a strong feeling Pinkie is the Rock specialist. And her Squad is about fun and baking.

Speaking of, does Spike previously know the Humane 5 since they were Twilights friends?

11771802
Your cold on the connection.

Yep.

Maybe...

Do remember the game. Team Stars Squad leaders never formerly met Penny until the end of Srarfall Street.

11771808

You really don't have to make all the MLP characters common copies of the characters in that new Pokemon game, otherwise there's no originality. And feels copy and paste from the game.

Plus, makes no sense that Spike never met the humane five ( Twilight's Friends ) in this scenario over these many years!?

11771924
Not every MLP character I use will be carbon copies of game character, and there is originality to be had. This here is only chapter three, give a guy some time to cook. Shadow Lock isn't the name of some mere OC. He does come from the MLP comics and is a descendant of Stygian.

11771930

I have some doubt about that. Since you did admit you have both Celestia, Sombra, Sunset, and even the Humane 5 and even Twilight acting not themselves.

Spike and Flash are probably the only ones that are alright in my book.

Shadow Lock isn't the name of some mere OC. He does come from the MLP comics and is a descendant of Stygian.

I don't think you really read my comment?

( Me specifically talking about Spike and the Humane Five not seeing each other for many years!? )

Because, I wasn't even talking about that other character!? I didn't even know this "Shadow Lock" MLP Comic character until you told me?

P.S. And Stygian has a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson!?

Does that mean that he wasn't a virgin anymore before he corrupts to the Shadow Pony!!?? :trollestia: :fluttershysad:

11771986
When it comes to characters, like the Twilight, Celestia, Sombra, and Sunset, context is key. Is this going to exactly be these characters dead on? No, but that doesn't mean elements won't be at play. Scitwi, before the events of Friendship Games, could easily fit into the Penny role.

As for Celestia and Sombra, there is a whole MLP comic arc where Celestia, true story, fell in love with an alternate Sombra. In this alternate universe, karmic dispositions are flipped. The good guys are the bad guys and vice versa. There, that Sombra was a kind king of Equestria.

As for the main cast, no matter what universe, they're always doing something. Can you honestly say, comparing the story of Team Star to the MLP continuity, that you could in no way see them forming Team Star? Keep in mind, Team Star was initially formed to stop prior bullies.

Along the way, through mistakes not on their part they get mistakenly seen as bullies themselves. Does the fact that every squad leader, together, decided to keep Team Star running in hopes their greatest treasure, a valued friend that they had not met in person yet still value not the essence of friendship?

While comic canon is questionable, at least in the Mlp comic continuity, Stygian has a descendant. As for the context of character, would you expect relationships to be the same in an alternate world? In MLP, Twilight meets the girls on the Summer Sun Celebration. In EQG, two different Twilights meet the same group, in the comic of Good Sombra, the Main 6 of that world are evil.

New captures and including the Four Sealed Pokémon? Oh man that’s gonna be so interesting to see you cook with those 4

i hope my oc will meet them soon.

Another update and another cool moment. Flash's first Rival battle and ended it with a tie. As well as an introduction of more characters.

The Journey continues. And it looks like Spike's reunion with Twilight is coming up. As well as the intro to Team Star. I wonder, does Twilight have Eeveelutions like Penny? Or a different team?

11777591

I think a full Eevee evolution team is a must have still, because it fits Penny’s whole character

11777602
Oh definitely. Eevee and its evolutions are adorable.

But I also wonder if Teal Mask and Indigo Disk will be covered here?

Because in Indigo Disk, you can catch some pokemon from Hoenn like Beldum, and all of the other regional starters.

11777591
Flash put his all into cinching the win, but hill was just too steep to climb. Still, a tie in that situation is good enough.

As for Twilight's team, there is plenty of time for a decision. I'll be mulling it over to see if I want her to have canon team or potentially go a different direction.
