As I mentioned in the previous story, kobold military doctrine leans heavily on skullduggery. It's completely unsurprising that they'd have dedicated spies.
Even in the far future, this trade-off apparently still exists and there's apparently still a dumb prejudice against the Dwarf Fortresses of the world who make the obviously correct choice of priorities.
(Yes, I'm well aware that this was supposed to be Minecraft. It's Dwarf Fortress that goes into ridiculous levels of simulation and then uses literal ASCII for graphics, though)

Yeah, that cutie mark showing up on a non-pony species is something I've only seen in one other place and it was justified by the fact that her father was a pony. That's a big red flag saying "the kobolds are right" to me.
