1359208 There's nothing wrong with it, it's just the way we work sometimes. I can see something and think it's funny, but just not laugh. The same goes for this story. It's very sad, and I think that the author did a great job, I just didn't cry.
As for this story, I think the author did a great job. The only problem I have is that you messed up on the lyrics a bit.

A story about how the entire world of Equestria is all contained within the mind of a girl named Pinkie Pie. That's some Tommy Westphall shit right there.
Also, it's a bit unrealistic. From your characterisation, she wasn't unloved, she wasn't miserable or depressed, people didn't shun her due to some disfigurement or what have you. All that happened is: her parents died. Noone is that fragile. If she saw her parents die in a grizzly, horrible, slow, painful death, you might have something...but they didn't.
