Take It Seriously

On a very Bright day Twilight Sparkle decided to head to the library to study for a very important exam at school next week.
Twilight always loved going to the library it was one her favorite things to do except for science of course However today was different because she had invited her friend Rainbow Dash to join her which Rainbow Dash reluctantly agreed to do.

"Come on Dashie we have to hurry" Twilight said
Running surprisingly faster than Dash was
"Twi I don't get why you're in such a rush the library doesn't close until 8:00pm" Rainbow said clearly not in much of hurry to go to the library.

Rainbow never really liked going to the library she thought it was for "EggHeads"
That's how she felt about Twilight sometimes sure she could be a complete and total nerd but in her defense that was part of her charm.

They finally arrived at the library once entered
They walked up to the front desk to meet the librarian Mr. Lemon Lime drinking his most freshest lemonade he looked up from his book to greet them "Hello Ms.Sparkle nice to see you again"

Lemon Lime said with a smile on his face
"Who's your friend?" He asked Twilight turned to face Dash " This is My friend Rainbow Dash we came to study that's all" Twilight said with grin on her face.

Lemon Lime nodded "Well you two have fun but"
As soon as he said that his face went from happy to seriousness almost like he was stone face
"Allow me to remind you about the rules
No noise, no fighting and no stealing.

He said with what sounded like little emotion in his words
The girls shook their heads and walked away rather quickly having been a little creeped out by Mr.Lemon Lime

They found a table in the middle of the library
Twilight laid her books down and took her seat
"Alright Rainbow how about we get started"
Twilight said. Rainbow however was nowhere to be found Twilight Sparkle looked around only to see Rainbow Dash using her super speed to
Speed read multiple comic books.

Twilight sighed and walked over to her
"Rainbow! Come on we need to study for the exam" Twilight said with her arms crossed clearly not in the mood for Rainbow to Goof Off
Rainbow looked at her "You need to study not me" Rainbow claimed clearly not taking her trip to the library very seriously.

Twilight frowned
A bit disappointed in the fact that her friend was being her typical self one of the things Twilight didn't like about Rainbow was the fact that she didn't take things seriously
She never understood how someone could not take something like Exams seriously.

So Twilight took the comic book
" Hey give that back" Dash yelled resulting in Mr.Lime to shush her and point at the wall with the library rules on it
"Sorry" Dash apologized giving Mr.Lime a little wave only to met back with a glare
Twilight grabbed Rainbow's hand forcing her back to the Table they had sat at.

"Now Dash let's begin" Twilight said opening her book and began reading about math equations and physics
An hour went by and Twilight was only half done with her book she was hoping that maybe Rainbow would say something or have questions about the book but when she looked up to ask her if she did

Twilight was shocked to find out that Rainbow Dash this whole time she was reading out loud had been sleeping with drool coming out of her mouth. Twilight took a deep breath and picked up one of her books, put it right next to Rainbow's ear and Slammed it closed very hard.

The loud noise not only woke Rainbow up but also scared her to the point where she fell out of her seat " What the hell is wrong with you Twi?" Rainbow asked not only confused but slightly pissed
" My problem is that you refuse to take this seriously" Twilight said now getting irritated with Rainbow's actions
"Look Twi I'm sorry but eventually I got bored and just passed out" Rainbow explained.

Twilight decided to just let it slide and tried giving Dash one more chance a decision she would soon regret

The hours went by and time and time again
Rainbow kept doing more antics
When Twilight tried reading again Dash would run off to the movie section of the library

When she tried getting Dash to do a practice exam on her computer
Dash would make excuses to go to the bathroom
And finally when Twilight tried using a piece of paper to draw an example of equations.
Dash would draw something completely off topic or would be on her phone listening to music

Finally after multiple attempts Twilight had enough of Rainbow's antics and just came to the only conclusion she could think of
Rainbow Dash just didn't care and it soon became clear she was just wasting her time

"Forget this she doesn't want to listen or read or even practice for the exam" Twilight thought gathering all her stuff and preparing to leave.

That was until Rainbow Dash ran up to her
"Hey Twi what are you doing" Rainbow asked curious of her friends actions
"I'm leaving" Twilight said very bluntly
With a look of irritation on her face

" I thought you wanted to learn and study" Rainbow said now even more confused then before
Twilight stopped gathering her stuff and took another deep breath
"I'm not leaving because I don't want to study anymore, I'm leaving because of you" Twilight said now with a little bit of anger in her voice.

Rainbow's eyes widen with shock
"Why me" Rainbow asked slightly taken back by her friend's words
Twilight turned around
" You wanna know why because you have done nothing but WASTE MY TIME!, you don't listen or read or even study all you have done is put me through absolute bull shit through nearly the whole day" Twilight said now angry at Rainbow.

Rainbow on the other hand was now both shocked, confused and a little pissed
"I have put you through bull shit, I wasn't even trying to come here to study i came because you invited me i don't even know why you did in the fucking first place" Dash said now getting angrier by the second.

"TO HELP YOU!" Twilight yelled nearly attracting everyone's attention in the library
Rainbow's eye's widen again but instead of in anger it was now in more confusion

Twilight adjusted her glasses " one day during school in the middle of math class I overheard the teacher telling you that you were failing and that you needed to pass the exam in order to graduate so I figured I'd take you to the library and try to help you" Twilight confessed with a little bit of tears going down her face.

Rainbow. Was. Shocked
She had no idea that this whole time Twilight didn't come to the library for herself she actually came for Rainbow

Twilight gathered the rest of her stuff began to walk to the door before Rainbow grabbed her by the arm and spun her around
"Twi wait" Rainbow said now feeling bad for everything she put Twilight through

"I'm sorry I didn't realize that you were doing this for me, I thought that you were just here for you
That's why I was just doing whatever I wanted
I'm sorry for wasting your time give me one more chance please" Rainbow said hoping Twi would have a change of heart.

Twilight was thinking about what to say next she pondered for a second
"Look Dash I'm just gonna leave it's clear this and giving you a chance was a mistake" Twilight said now walking out the door and sat on the sidewalk bench

Rainbow's heart felt in pain she walked back over to the Table they sat at thinking of how she could make this up to Twilight.

While Rainbow was thinking she noticed something out of the corner of her eye it was one of Twilight's physics books
She picked it up and thought for a second
She wanted to make it up to Twilight so bad
So she open the math book and began reading.

Meanwhile outside the library
Twilight sat on the beach waiting for a bus to pick her up since it was to dark to walk home
Her mind was deep in thought
"Maybe I was a little to hard on her"
Twilight thought she checked her stuff to see if she had forgotten anything only to find out she had forgotten her physics book.

She walked back into the library to look for her book walking back to the table she was originally sitting at only to be shocked by what she saw

Rainbow Dash was reading her book and had a piece of paper next to her doing equations

Twilight couldn't believe it
She walked up next to Rainbow and looked at her paper.

Surprisingly all the equations she wrote down she got correct

Rainbow closed the book having finished it and looked up at Twi

"Listen Twi I'm sorry for earlier you we're right I should have been paying more attention and taking this more seriously but the truth is
I wasn't taking this seriously because I don't really think I have a chance either way" Dash admitted

Twilight was shocked to hear her friend's words
Never before had she actually heard Rainbow be so apologetic.
"What do you mean?" Twilight asked
Rainbow stood up and faced Twilight

"I never really thought i had a chance of passing no matter what I do, I mean I'm not as smart as you I'm more Street smart than Book smart
So I figured why even try but then you invited me to come to the library with you I thought you were going for yourself so I just tagged along figured it be fun to hang out with one of my closest friends" Rainbow said.

Twilight's eye's widen
She wrapped her arms around Rainbow and pulled her in for a hug
Leaning close to her ear so no one else could hear her

" Dashie you don't have to be just as smart as me to pass an exam it doesn't matter if your street smart, book smart or just plain stupid. Id rather see you try then just give up who knows maybe you might score higher then me" Twilight said

Rainbow smiled at the thought
" You really think so?" Rainbow asked

"Probably not " Twilight said with a chuckle

Rainbow however was not amused
"Real funny EggHead, Real funny" Dash said sarcastically

Twilight couldn't help but laugh

"So will you give me a second chance please?"
Rainbow asked scratching the back of her head

Twilight laid her stuff back down on the table took a seat next to Dash and opened her other math book "Sure but this time take it seriously" Twilight said
"No promises" Dash shot back
As the two sat down and began studying
Atleast until the library closed.
