There is no wrong way to fantasise.

T

In a world crippled by a cataclysm one has to keep one’s eyes wide open, for it no longer belongs to its former masters and danger awaits survivors behind every corner. But how can one look out for something so abominable and hideous that a mortal mind chooses to ignore its existence?

Really good, the atmosphere was suffocating and grim, and those last words! Nicely done

Thank you very much!

I wonder what happened.

Not sure if you read a blog post regarding that story, but in case you didn't: initially I planned it to be a teaser for a bigger project, however, it is kinda cancelled now, or at least not happening in any MLP universe.

I see you are a writer yourself, so if you have an interest of that bigger story still seeing the light of day as an MLP project, I am open to a dialogue.

Shoot me a pm and we'll see.

I'd like to imagine that in these wastes, there were a few master trolls who deliberately said something ridiculous as their last words, just so the horror would repeat it for all time.
Picture this: you're in a room within some long abandoned building, trying to get through a locked door, when you hear some scraping coming from the hall. Suddenly, an undead horror emerges, and speaks in its guttural, stilted tongue "S̸͓̅p̶̟͌ą̴̇n̶͖̉k̶̭̿ ̵̟̈m̷͖̄e̶̗͒ ̸͕̒h̴̦͑a̴̽͜ŕ̶̢d̵̯̓e̶͕͑r̶̪͆ ̸̬͝d̸̫͐a̵̞͗d̷͙̋d̸̙̚y̴̡͐".

Well, thank you, can't get it out of my head now.

Excellent story. I admire the breadth of your vocabulary and how cunningly you use it. Much like Lovecraft's own style. The ending was also very well done. The narrator spending his last breaths reconciling with his past actions with a few defiant shouts is suitably bittersweet in contrast to the events leading up. Thanks for sharing this!

Thank you kindly.
I do try to emulate Lovecraft's prose and it's makes me exceedingly glad to see that my efforts are not in vain.
