Vengeance of the Void

Discord saved Fluttershy. Then Twilight became Princess and, like he did before, Discord concocted a cockamamie scheme to help her mature into the assertive young Princess Equestria needed. And everything went south. Discord's chaotic, poorly-conceived screwup left everyone else cleaning up after him. Right?

When the Lord of Chaos has glowing eyes and speaks with a voice as deep as the Void, mortal and immortal alike should fear.

Well this sounds interesting! For your first story, this is really good; we don't really know what's going on yet, but instead of being annoying, it''s exciting and even somewhat intimidating.

Some questions (feel free not to answer, I'm just rambling here). So Discord's some void-wielding entity, but instead of destroying everything, he just uses it to mess around. But, because of something that happened with Flutters, he's now unable to contain the full force of the void? So, he basically being possessed by his own magic, and is trying to employ a plan to stop himself.

My understanding may be wrong, but if not, it differently brings up some questions. There's clearly a time skip early on, so we don't really know exactly what released the void. It clearly has something to do with Fluttershy, but I don't think it's the Changling event, though we were shown it at the start (that scene could've been placed there just to show off how deeply Discord cares, plus the secret power he holds.). I'm assuming that some threat, after the Changlings, attacked, kidnapped, and or killed Flutters.

I'd be surprised if anything less than Fluttershy's serious injury or death could make Discord go all power crazy. I mean, if anything less could make this happen, how hasn't Discord been void possessed before?
