Arioch Starr

[10/10/2023] Progression has halted, excitement has dwindled, enthusiasm has dimmed, WIPs are being maintained. Thank you.

The year is 2110. 100 years prior, planet Earth was on the verge of destruction due to a series of natural cosmic events. In a desperate attempt to save their planet, the human race requested the aid of the Equestrians: a race of equine-type beings from Equestria. After a successful diplomacy, the two species currently live alongside each other in unity and planet Earth has been in steady harmony with the space-time continuum ever since.

On the outskirts of an advanced New York City stands a well recognized building; the University of Earth. The university is home not only to humans but Equestrians as well as other distinct beings. Built by one man and his equine companion sometime in the early twenty-first century as a means to further ease the relationship between humans and ponies, it now stands as a place of teaching and learning for a variety of subjects.

Our story begins with Nick, a 22 year old humanoid alien entity, en route to the university…

I’m not sure if people are still writing FiM-fics, much less reading them, but here’s my contribution regardless.

Now, before you start criticising my work, bear these in mind: I haven’t seen the show past the fifth season finale, so anything new from the sixth season onwards is relative news; I haven’t watched the show in a few years so the characteristics are taken from memory, despite the fact that there practically are no characteristics from any character (details below); I am British writing with American-living characters so the dialogue will be confusing (ie, American first floor will be British ground floor, plus a lot of British names for objects); I’ve been working on this garbage for four years, four freakin’ years for five chapters and still it’s not my definition of perfection, and I’ll tell you why.

Common criticisms I have, personally, with the writing are: the dialogue sucks, it just sucks, I can’t write dialogue to save my life; the scenario is bad, it’s been written to death and still is being written about; the character development is almost nonexistent which is somewhat understandable since it’s been a while since I last saw the show, but still inexcusable for being so terrible.

As a side note, I also welcome criticism, constructive or otherwise. It helps me develop into a better writer, so feel free to share your opinions within the comments or message me via PM (if it’s possible on this site) on what you think I could/should improve on (other than what was stated above).

One more thing. Help with tags would be highly appreciative.

With all that said, I hope you enjoy.

Hey, guys, Arioch here.
I want to apologise for the delayed upload. I had some technical difficulties after uploading the introduction, and my work life had been acting up recently so I haven't had the time nor the mindset to concentrate on this project (which explains the lack of detail in this chapter), so I'm sorry about that. If you can contribute to this by having a little patience, I'd be very grateful and appreciative.
Ps, I'm also currently working on another FiMFiction project, one that actually takes place in Equestria, so look out for that in the future.

I like that story. I am excited for next chapter.

I'm sorry for the late response, but I thank you for the encouragement. It really means a lot to me.

Hey, guys, Arioch here. Just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happier new year.

Why is there a human tag when Nick is only humanoid?

Why didn't you respond to my comment?

Hi, Starlight. Thanks for taking an interest in my work.
The reason I did not respond to your previous comment is because it does not warrant one.
If you request your question answered, I will direct you to the previously uploaded chapters.
