Thank you, Captain obvious.
Hmm...
Well that was unexpected....
His survivor's guilt... caused him physical pain? Physical, debilitating pain? That got worse from trying to treat it? Is that a thing that can happen? I feel like that shouldn't be a thing that can happen. At least, not without psychic dream/brain worms. Is it psychic dream/brain worms?

If there’s a chance of psychic dream worms then it’s always psychic dream worms.
THANK YOU FOR DOING A REASONABLE THING WITH THE HUMAN-TO-PONY TROPE!

Thanks. I'll fix it.

What I want to know is why a Pony transformation only? Why not gryphon or dragon options? Would those not work also for the issue? He might like to keep the option of having digits and hands.

Minotaur. They're already the closest thing to a human Equis seems to have.
Unrelated, he caught cuttleitis. This is why you have to limit your daily cuddling with ponies...or your head explodes. In other news, dozens of humans found dead with ruptured craniums.
Why is Flurry Heart here? Is this chapter set after "The Crystalling"

That was a uh... slight timeline issue on my part. This story does have the AU tag, so just assume Flurry was born before that. I cant really change it now without completely rewriting huge parts of the story.

Post-traumatic stress disorder is no small issue. One of the many hurdles of people who develop PTSD is how hard it is for non-sufferers to comprehend how it affects them.
Studies have found that compared to those without PTSD, people with PTSD are more likely to experience health problems including:
And that is just physically. You also have your flashbacks, nightmares, wanting to avoid people, places, and things associated with the trauma. Emotional numbness, detachment, anxiety, hypervigilance, sleep disturbances and fear, which are all common features of PTSD.
Then you have the secondary issues caused by your friends and family thinking you are just making things up. After all, there is no way an event could make you suffer like that, let alone for years afterwards. If you are military, then you have to worry about being accused of malingering, which can have legal repercussions even if a doctor backs your diagnosis.
This is all if you even know your issues are caused by PTSD, many sufferers go their whole life without proper diagnosis, simply being told to "suck it up", and "quit letting things get to you". As well, the initial trigger event is unique to the individual. Every mind is unique, and even others standing right next to them may not have any lasting reaction, but that does not diminish the validity of those who suffer.
Oh, I figured his headaches and memory loss issues were because of his concussion at the beginning of the story, when that steel panel bashed into his skull, knocking him out and leaving behind a hemorrhaging gash.

It's been several months since his crash landing, so David's head injury is all healed up from that at least.
