Ever since her ascension, Twilight has been getting used to her new position as a Princess of Equestria. Of course now she gets to spend time with her fellow peers in a manner she never got to before, as an equal, and it leads her to talk to them about things that she never could have dreamed of. Where was Luna for the first few months after her return? Why did Twilight not know how Cadance and Shining Armor had an entire relationship without her knowing? Why is Celestia's mane multi-coloured?
What answers will she get to the questions she wants to ask?
The story will follow the princesses past certain events in the showrun.

More please! That was a great chapter and I want to see more interactions between Twilight and the Princesses. Also, a good idea for another topic between Twilight and Celestia could be Sunset Shimmer and her growth as a character. Just a suggestion.

I was considering that to be their next topic. I was always disappointed that the show never dealt with it at all, not even in the expanded media. it made it seem like celestia never really cared. for me the first chapter was going to be either sunset or just dealing with twilights earliest days as a princess but I do plan to do both anyway. thanks for reading as well.
Even with the time setting, kind of annoyed you didn't use the propper cannon of that Celestia's mane was like that before that 10, 15 minute battle.
Love the story though.

i do know that the show made it canon before the battle, but after watching lullaby for a princess on youtube the idea just really stuck with me

In all fairness, the idea that Celestia's mane came from using the Elements is a cool thing and idea. Maybe it was even Hasbro's idea at one time that that's where it came from.

Oy. Up until here I was liking the chapter. But that first bit feels like it's straight out of the comics and its excuse for what happened to Luna.

I have read the comics and I like to have my own version of what happened. for me its just easier to imagine than luna simply becoming nightmare moon from her own jealousy. although I didn't use the nightmare creatures from the comic because I didn't really like them. I just thought perhaps a mysterious dark force would serve me better here. glad to know u liked the rest thought. thanks for reading.

You definitely get points for not trying, and failing (like the rest of the fandom has) to retcon Lauren Faust in as their mom. Or at least say so definitevly.

Will one of the questions be why Celestia never told Twilight about Sunset Shimmer?
Okay this has pushed my believability past its limits. They are mares. There was nothing to ever say they couldn't have children. Only the fact that Celestia and Luna hadn't. For whatever reason.
Cadance I would think knows this already.
The only possible reasons for sunbutt and monnbutt not to are A: they never found a stallion they liked to go that far. Or B:
They would not risk it for fear someone could attack them, through their children.
Plus I feel they would have tested to see if they are sterile by now.

Well, it is kind of a legitimate question. Weird pony genetics aside, Alicorns might just be "different." Are they gods? Are they demigods? Something else entirely? They might require a male alicorn. Haven't seen any. If they can have children with regular ponies, would they be 'mortal?' If they are, why would they even have children after a while just to outlive them time and again? Maybe if they do, they'd be great heroes? Like the Greek gods had heroes with mortal women and men. In the series this question has been answered. The Princess of Love has Flurry Heart. But. Could that just be because she is the Princess of Love? Maybe the association of being connected to the Sun burned out the mortal needs of Celestia and she only eats because it's pleasant , but doesn't have to... among other things. This is fertile ground for fanfics for years.
