Oh, it was beautiful. It's rare that an author can get the reader to the same feelings -or close enough- as the character. Like I said, like a high-speed super-heated tungsten rod to the heart and out the other side. And that shit has an enormously high melting point.

I read several happy and adorable fics already, so it's okay now. But goddamn, this is weapons-grade tragic.

Shy was kept true to character, and this is one of few fics that don't default to RD being a FF.
This is the best FiM fic i've read that connects to the character save only for 'my little dashie' which is not a bad title to be seconded by.

Especially with the fact that it takes a look at the ponies in question not only dealing with real problems, but also dealing with them in real ways. Yes, yes it is. True story: based on your post's timing, while you were reading this, I was setting up my new record player and listening to my first song on a vinyl album I own. It was Iris. Learned how to see where on a record to start the needle if you want to skip songs and everything just so it would be my first.
