8311501 In the original Rainbow Bright series the title character had a magical steed named "Starlight". He was, quote-unquote, "The most magnificent stallion in the universe", if I recall properly.
A good guy, noble heart, but also a little vain so it evened out his character (probably the only well rounded character in the entire series).
Rainbow Bright was the first girls cartoon that caught a large audience of male viewers. I knew no less than two other male friends whom owned the title character's doll and my brother and me both owned the stuffed sprites seen in the series (his blue mine red--both our favorite colors).
But the real reason is that Starlight is tall enough to be a few hands bigger than Celestia. I've always headcannon him meeting her for the first time and saying, "Greetings, my little pony," and Celestia responding, "It's been an awfully long time since anypony's called me that...." while blushing.
For the B plotline, Rainbow Dash and Rainbow Bright get into some sort of competition over the name "Rainbow"...I think it could work...
Huh. Usually it's Twilight stressing over Celestia's visits.
“Ve are going to need more oil!” they said at the same time.
I should've seen that one coming.
And yeah, ethereal veils of charged plasma don't really mix with the "wet mane" look. I hope there's some way to undo that before the date. With any luck, the date won't go too disastrously.
8311488 So it's a sham marriage that she only got into in order to maintain some superficial image of purity, but has and never had any intention of actually following through. Truth be told, this actually clarifies things for me and I accept this reasoning.
8311508 See above remark; I feel it actually explains basically everything.
8312958 Don't get me wrong, I am not disagreeing with you, and even though I have accepted the reasoning (which I admit I created and is not officially confirmed), I don't like it any more than I did prior. It is only an explanation, not a justification.
It felt like they were trying to emulate MLP:FiM, didn't do too bad a job either. But it was worth watching at least once and even made me laugh out loud a couple of times which is hard to do.
All in all, not a bad use of thirty some-odd minutes.
Best part about it were Brian's reactions; he actually gets surprised, scared, or confused when weird things happen around him.
Her lustrous and softly-glowing mane hung down nearly straight to the ground, and part of it actually trailed on the floor. Her tail looked even more drastic, flowing down behind her into a multicolored puddle that followed her wherever she went.
Someone's downloaded the same wet-mane vector that I love some much...
The pink spa pony was there almost instantly, and she held ... a juice box.
I have a feeling that Twilight is intentionally sabotaging the date. All what Celestia just went through is a bad idea, and she knows it. Oh well, let's see what else will happen before Tia finally snaps
: “I do not intend to be surprised, Twilight. I merely want to ensure that it won't be anything ... too extreme.” : “Don't worry – I've scheduled the exact same treatments for myself, so you know it won't be anything too crazy.”
: *Now I'm more worried than before...*
Her lustrous and softly-glowing mane hung down nearly straight to the ground, and part of it actually trailed on the floor. Her tail looked even more drastic, flowing down behind her into a multicolored puddle that followed her wherever she went.
She must be careful where she goes. One quick walk through the garden...
8340519 Damn. Makes me realize that without context, that image is dark as fuck. I never would have guessed the show would produce a screenshot like that back when we were in the season 1 days. Oh, how innocent we were.
8340522 If you are interested in out-of-context screenshots have a look at the Out of Context Screenshot Theater by MythrilMoth. He already has 814 (and growing) of those. (Contains a few times non-pony material.)
Finally got around to reading this chapter. I'm surprised at the dynamic you gave Twi and Spike when Celestia arrived, since normally you'd expect Twi to be the one to prepare for Celestia's visit.
It took hours to complete, but finally, Celestia was allowed to look at herself in the mirror. Her lustrous and softly-glowing mane hung down nearly straight to the ground, and part of it actually trailed on the floor. Her tail looked even more drastic, flowing down behind her into a multicolored puddle that followed her wherever she went.
“But Twilight, now she's here, and I haven't prepared anything at all!”
Isn't the one doing the worrying usually the opposite?
“Oh, just look at how self-conscious she is!” The blue spa pony beamed. “Is zis not ze cutest thing you did ever see?” The pink spa pony bounced up and down with glee.
That's it? I imagine if Fluttershy did it while shyly hiding behind her mane, now transferring that idea to Celestia...
Diabetes material! Mostly Fluttershy.
As for the other parts... ehh...
Psst. Twilight. Leave fashion to Rarity.
I shan't be surprised if Fancy Pants prefers Celestia as is. There's something to be said for being you no matter what.
Sumbitch, your alive?
8311462
Bastard!
Celestia probably should have gone with a mane cut before the wet mane treatment
8311458
I may go away for long periods, but I'll always come back.
8311498
Heh. Now she's going to be tripping all over it.
Do I sense a great Bamboozle?
8311488
So as long as the female is happy, everything is just fine? That's horseshit. It's wrong for either party to cheat.
Look if you had stated that it was an open marriage, that would make things different.
8311506
Probably! ^.^
8311508
I don't mean to say that everything's fine there... Just a way it might be considered a 'success'.
8311501
Maybe but it can get repetitive if you do it too much :)

8311504 oh god, your like dead pool, you ALWAYS COME BACK!
8311603
Heh ... that's so crazy, it just might work!
8311488
you also forgot the sex tag
But stell
8311821
Oh come on -- there are no actual depictions of sex.
It would be like putting the comedy tag on a fic that doesn't have any real jokes in it.
Huh. Usually it's Twilight stressing over Celestia's visits.
I should've seen that one coming.

8311508
See above remark; I feel it actually explains basically everything.
8312893
Sorry, but that's a too much assumption for me.
This could have been explained easily by claiming Open Marriage in the story, and then virtually nobody would have the same complaints I do.
8312958
Don't get me wrong, I am not disagreeing with you, and even though I have accepted the reasoning (which I admit I created and is not officially confirmed), I don't like it any more than I did prior. It is only an explanation, not a justification.
I don't think she can pull this off
8312707
This story would end way to anticlimactically if the date went well.
8313070
We'll see, won't we?
8311693
Here's a link to the reboot series, it's less than 35 minutes long. But it'll give you an idea of the character.
He's not as narcissistic as he was originally, but it's still a good rendition.
8313470
Wow. Now if that's not every HiE story ever!
8313491
Yup!
It felt like they were trying to emulate MLP:FiM, didn't do too bad a job either. But it was worth watching at least once and even made me laugh out loud a couple of times which is hard to do.

Okay, maybe not. Still...
8311504
Maybe, if she starts feeling bold, she could have her date carry it for her like a dress train. I'm sure he'd stick around.
8313612
Why is there no picture of wet-mane Celestia with a juice box? Why?
8311473
Well... wasn't aware she was that breed of mare
I have a feeling that Twilight is intentionally sabotaging the date. All what Celestia just went through is a bad idea, and she knows it.
Oh well, let's see what else will happen before Tia finally snaps
8319024
Celestia might have that feeling pretty soon, too...
Excellent. Please, continue.
8324892
My Patreon supporters are already proofreading the next chapter. ^.^
8324943
Excellent.
: *Now I'm more worried than before...*
She must be careful where she goes. One quick walk through the garden...
8339188
Now I want to see pictures of Celly when she has a dirty mane.
Why is she so pristine in every single picture?
8339268
This picture here from S4E02 is the next closest thing to Celestia's mane being dirty. (At least that I can currently think of.)

8341762
In later episodes, Twi has learned a lot of chill. ^.^
8341805
Yeah, she definitely has.
Sooo basically this then.

Please leave the fashionable makeovers to Rarity, Twilight.
8343656
Yeah, this isn't Twi's specialty!
Isn't the one doing the worrying usually the opposite?

This sounds like something straight out of anime. ;]
I Feel guilty to say this but last time i saw a "Spa" scene 3 ponies got rahped 🤢
