I can't even bring myself to feel bad about the damage that the pony's reputations are about take
Well this will be a quick jaunt. Unless there is more then one tracker on him. I get the feeling that when they trap the wrong pony they are going to be pissed off. Plus Logan should have been trying to learn the ponies language because I get the feeling that he would have tried to do that at least.
So, did no one find the remains of the strange metal being with claws just like Wolverine's?! Seriously, I do love this story, but the ponies are portrayed as idiots and it is kind of annoying.
So much tension!
7097939 standard pony
7098038 No it isn't. There aren't that many times in canon in which a pony's ignorance can't be excused.
hmmm. I now have a theory.
Imp will learn to speak enough to explain that it was a machine that destroyed her home and Logan (while being really scary) saved her.
GODDAMNIT!!! Why the hell haven't they been investigating the ruined villages? The first ones at least had multiple causes of death, and the last one had a shredded killing machine WITH ONE OF ITS CLAWED ARMS STILL INTACT!!!
"Oh my Celestia guys! The creature almost had me!"
Oh no! What happened!?
"I think he was trying some mating dance but I totally punched him the face and he went rolling in pain!"
"Yeah he was pretty tough but I kicked his flank. I'm surprised you guys are having so much trouble with him"
I can't... I don't even
I got to see the Elysium Fields! For a bit. I think. I need more cake.
7097939
Is it really be idiotic?, rather can be like Logan said "I should have left something intact", the fight could have scattered the remains of the sentinel and the ponies must have have mistaken the pieces or the wiring from other devices, we know that there is basic technology in Equestria as arcade machines, if a guard inexperienced in electronics saw the remains, it could pass as trash.
7097939 If it's still there that is. Don't forget it copied wolvies ability, so is it really to hard to imagine that it copied logan's healing factor as well? And if it did, who knows how much punishment that thing can take before it becomes unable to regenerate.
Personally, i think we haven’t heard the last of our sentinel friend quite yet.
...if only because i feel like the battle was much to easy, for an enemy as important as that thing was.
7098082
But will they trust Logan? I get the feeling that by the end neither party will like the other and Logan will be leaving without Imp/Alicia.
7098082
Time to debunk theory
The girl is scared of the sentinel AND Logan, she's gonna stay on Equestria, and she will become GOD OF THE PONIES, but seriously, Logan is gonna try to convince her but she will not hear him and is gonna talk about her past, Logan will understand because he probably choose the same if he was a child, I mean, two loving ponies want to adopt you and your childhood in this moment isn't the most beautiful memory that you have.
Or Logan will get the middle finger and get screwed.
7097939 to be fair, there is no indication of the time gap, so they might not be aware yet.
7098156 I didn't say it was a good theory.
7098064 There actually a lot of times that the ponies numb skulledness got them screwed over. It depends on what one finds excusable and inexcusable.
The Sentnals healing factor would be like Iron Giant, with T-X liquid metal reforming?
Always fun when a tracking unit is removed, transfered or hidden in the flatbed of a pickup truck.
The Mane 6 are going to hit Logan with the OFC, and its going to either trigger the Berserker or knock it out of him. Possibly into the remains of the Sentinal, which would then be a Beserker Wolverie Sentinal?
7098182 Or he will find her and knock her out if she much pf a problem and drag her to the extract point.
7098235
IF Bon bon give him enough time, because you know, she is the BEST.
Edit
Oh wait, because last time that work so well
7097939 The Flower Trio almost died from a rabbit stampede...yeah, not exactly the most observant species...
And the last hope of equestra dies by one monster not knowing great monsters will come soon.
7098082 AFAIK, Alicia thinks that Logan was responsible for the orphanage destruction...so, no such luck....
7098254
We forgot something, didn't we?
7098262 With Discord When Fluttershy dies and having Celestia in her curent state he's not going to stay sain. And Sweetie Drops with all do respect shes not a Black Widow Even if she beats Wolverine somehow Discord is going to own her.
7098271
Wait, what? I don't remember Fluttershy or Discord be mentioned on the story, I was thinking another mutant send by Magneto or something like that.
7098289 If were just talking Sentnials I just have one thing to say. There's never just one.
7098083 The last one had just happened when they saw the tracker heading towards another town. It's a question of priorities.
The earlier villages were investigated -- they even remarked that it was strange how the villages were destroyed so quickly after Wolverine arrived.
7098271 Fluttershy isn't in any danger. Everyone's chasing the tracker which is going to the wrong place. The monster is going after Bon Bon.
7098293
Then why this sentinel was unique? Why we haven't heard from the princess or the deceased Black Widow another attack at the same time?
ci.memecdn.com/165/9191165.jpg
Okay Logan has lured the Ponies away and his running towards Alicia.
But Bonbon stayed back and has a magical thermonuclear grenade.
Things wont end well.
7098317 Forget it.
WHY IS THIS STORY NOT IN COMICBOOK ARTFORM YET ???
WHY AREN'T WE FUNDING THIS ???
KO awesome chapter, let's hope that Luna can look into Wolverine's mind to see what really happen at that city.
7098573 GET STAN LEE ON THIS SHIT
7098312 True, they might not have had time to investigate the latest village yet, but as for the previous ones any competent investigation would have included autopsies to determine cause of death, which would reveal multiple wounds that couldn't have been caused by him due to their nature, i.e.- lightning & frikkin' laser beams.
Hmm...
7098317 There was just the one Nomad model in the vicinity as Logan and Alicia when she teleported them all, so we can only hope that there's just the one--but as others have mentioned, it may be able to regenerate itself.
With luck, it will still in the process of doing that when Luna and the others show up and then maybe they can take it out, thinking its Logan.
I'm waiting for either Luna or Twilight to intend to take Wolverine on in single combat... only for Wolverine to want to talk. Pictographs go a long way towards explaining, after all...
7099738
Wombat
Good always prevails in the end.
The only problem here is; which side is good?
On the one hand, Logan is innocent of most of the crimes and wishes to return Alicia to her world and keep her safe, while teaching her to control her powers to save innocents.
On the other, the ponies want to stop and kill Logan with false and true accusations (mostly false), while keeping him away from Alicia for the assumption that he wishes to do something horrible to her.
Ding ding, we have a winner. Can you guess who? I'll give you a hint; "An eye for an eye, makes the whole world blind"
7098137 7098147 There would still be pieces, and the claws would still be intact. Anyone could piece together that the claws match Wolverine's.
7098190 They had the report of the attack, so they've at least found the town. The scraps strewn about would be hard to miss
7098213 The only times have been excusable. For example, Chrysalis. People often say the others were stupid for not listening to Twilight, but why should they have? Twilight had no evidence and is known to overreact. Also, Chrysalis did nothing 'evil' as far as even Twilight saw. Besides, Twilight was wrong in the end. She thought Cadence was evil, not that she was replaced by someone evil. Nearly every other time the ponies' ignorance is similarly excusable.
7098253 That's over reacting, not ignorance. They're drama queens, that's all.
7101200 You know that most ponies are drama queens, right ? I mean, it´s cannon ! Twilight went full brain meltdown ´cause she couldn´t write a letter !!! And we´re talking ´bout the more level-headed character in the show...
7101207 Yeah, but as funny as it is, it isn't the same thing as ignorance.
7101200
To you.
But if I must name some times I will.
Zecora. That's enough on its own, you know what I'm getting at.
Rainbow dash, in general.
In specific. step one, kick a dragon in the face. step two, ???. Step three, Profit!!!.
(Rarity stealing from a dragon, Right in front of said dragon, wasn't too bright either.)
Putting out a batch of baked goods before testing them to make sure that there good. That'll ruin a business right there.
Multiple unsafe workplaces. Ranging from fire hazards to tripping hazards, even biohazards in some cases.
Poor, (if Any) construction standards. You know it's bad when you walk into a building and it either moves or starts collapsing.
These are ones I find inexcusable. There are more, Many more.
7101352 First off, I did say most are excusable, not all. As for your examples,
A strange striped pony unlike anything they have ever seen anywhere else living in a forest known for being home to monsters. Nuff said.
Rainbow is also extraordinarily brash for pony. No other pony has been shown as being even close to that bad.
The entirety of that episode repeatedly states that Applejack is a trusted pony. She also has plenty of experience in baking herself. Also, bakeries don't sample everything they make.
Examples?
This is more the results of 'cartoon logic'. Look at the abuse other buildings take and remain in perfect condition. Building stability falls under the rule of 'When it's funny'.
7101451
they knew that Zecora was a zebra. Only they assumed that she was a witch and therefor evil, because she was a zebra.
You are right about rainbow being extremely bash and there being no one close to that level... All the time. Sometimes any one of the ponies that have been seen more than a few times will act at that level to get whatever the story for that episode is, going.
(No comeback against Rarity stealing from a dragons hoard right in front that dragon?)
Have you ever worked in a bakery before? Because I have. If you work In any place like that then you usually eat the food there. Normally when you're making food if one is either too small or too misshaped it gets eaten by the baker or other staff. Lest the costumers complain about poor quality goods.
I'll tell you what, name a workplace in the show that's seen for at least three minutes, and I will give you all the different hazards I've see in that workplace.
The rule of 'when it's funny' certainly is tyrannical indeed. But still even with the benefit of the doubt given standard pony housing Is far below par. And frankly? Not safe to live in.
7101614
No they didn't. Twilight had to explain to them that she was a zebra.
Yes, but not every batch has misshaped or sized portions, especially when the baker is experienced.
The bowling alley or Carousel Boutique.
Yeah, having the condition of your house determined by whether or not some higher being would get a laugh out of it would suck. Still, it's not the ponies' fault their gods have a screwed up sense of humor.
7101200 uhm, no? i think you are a bit confused since you are thinking about logan's healing factor, but you shouldn't forget, logan's an organic, the sentinel isn't. while most organics in fiction tend to use regenerative abilities by regrowing lost body parts, for robots however healing by reassembling/reassimilating old body parts is basically the standard way for them in fantasy to repair themselves. so, logical speaking, there wouldn't be any pieces left for the ponies to find.
but wait that's not all. just checked to make sure, but as some people already pointed out before, the white sentinel should probably be nimrod, a time traveling sentinel from the future featured in the x-men comics who can copy mutant abilities (sound familiar?). This is what the internet says about his powers: "Even when smashed to pieces, Nimrod can reintegrate the portions of his body to become whole again." so, as you can see, no, there wouldn't be any piece left for them to find, since nimrod would have gathered them and used them to repair itself.
7101795 If he couldn't regenerate (if it's not Nimrod) then there would be pieces. Logan may be rather powerful, but he can't disintegrate things. And if it is Nimrod and he regenerated, there would be signs of the battle. Even before that fight, though, the ponies were being stupid. The ponies should have asked, "If he could shoot energy blasts, like what has been found in the town, why hasn't he used it against them?"
7101641
I'm going to replace that 'or' with a 'and' and do both.
First if the bowling alley. Lets get one thing straight right now, bowling for a pony is in itself dangerous. Large, heavy balls designed to be slippery, in hooves? That's not safe, not in the least.
Magic seems to be some answer that. Then again magic is fairly unreliable there.
As for actual workplace hazards i've seen are few and far between here other than the waxed floors being a somewhat poor path for anything that can't fly, and that this particular building seems poorly designed with a large amount of weight on the top of the building and no inside supports, it should have collapsed under its own weight imedently.
There would be for this one if I had seen more of the episode that contains this workplace.
Now for the boutique.
Most of the hazards for this one comes from Rarity herself. This includes the variety of tripping hazards caused by a mess of cloth and other sewing supplies being left around at times. This gets worse when the fact that this is also where costumers come in to either browse or buy clothing, endangering them as well.
Have a pet such as a cat that could and will get under foot when moving heavy and/or sharp, tools or equipment.
Underaged siblings are also hazards, though more of what they can do to themselves with dangerous tools and equipment.
That's all the hazards I've seen for that boutique. Normally I'd say something about the house but... I think it might be the only one I haven't seen collapse and I'm not going to jinx it.
7101844
The same could be said for Canterlot Palace. One can assume they have some kind of magical solution. Normally, I try to avoid the whole "it's magic!" argument, but with the shear number of architectural impossibilities displayed in the show that's actually a legitimate answer in this case.
Also, we've already seen that pony hooves don't act like their real-world counterparts. They have some kind of gripping mechanism (my own headcanon is a contact based telekinetic force) that doesn't exists here.
As for the boutique, the presence of a pet and sibling are simply because this is a home, as well as a business (which, admittedly, is a hazard in and of itself). As for the tripping hazard, that is mostly only seen in her work room, where customers wouldn't go.
