There's ANOTHER fic with the same title AND the same cover art...and I also saw it on this fic recommended to me.
Most people are too harsh, seriously, a crap ton of angry people because of a single mistake. This is why earth is doomed to die, because of hard-asses like these people. I don't care about the mistakes. MY issue is that they took a piece of fanart that was made specifically for me and a story I wrote and used it for their own story, with the same name, without asking anyone.
That is tremendously insulting.

I also know that it's POLITE to ask someone if you could do a reading/write a fanfic on their story/their fan art. And I don't feel right if I go ahead and start writing a story without asking the person who I got the art from.
Look around this site. There are many stories with the exact same cover on it and follow the same plot. If this story was repeated in any way, it wouldn't have passed Submission, now, would it?
And you find this insulting?! Wow, thats REALLY nice to say to a users SECOND STORY. Which was submitted at the same time as the first! It's the equivalent of me hacking into your account, changing the password, and deleting all of your stories.
However, I would never do that.
So, just please, get off of my case, OK?

Hey. You used a piece of artwork that wasn't yours to use, copied the name of a prior existing story using that same cover art all without even having the professional courteously to ask anyone before doing so?
The artwork was obvious fanfiction cover art. There is no way you could have missed that. YOU didn't care, and now you are defensive because you were called out on it. I don't claim that I have some mighty authority on what you can and cannot write, but this particular image was drawn by kilala specifically for my story. So yes, it does irritate me a little bit that you didn't even consider it appropriate to make a token request of people.
I'm not showing you any respect because you didn't show any to me or to Kilala. It's a two way street. Never the less, I know the artist herself doesn't enjoy fights being started in her name, so I'm going to back away from this.
Next time you want to use artwork, you should probably check with the artist if you can to make sure it is OK. After all, it is just the polite thing to do.
