They're tired of mentors never telling them what they need to know. They're tired of always being expected to forgive others, no matter what. They're tired of always being the one who saves the day when the people they save aren't worth it.

I REALLY love how your writing of these proves I'm not the ONLY one that has conniption fits about this stuff.
Seriously, a five yr old from just about any school could lead Cobra to victory over GI JOE and take over the world.
People could argue saying the transformation has some magical effect that prevents them for being easily linked to their alter ego, but there is actually an example in sailor moon that shows that its not perfect, that being that sailor Venus had a whole line of video games and toys about her sailor V persona, meaning that random game designers, toy makers, etc could at very least recreate her likeness very accurately.
Even if someone like Sunset couldn't directly equate a sailor scout to the alter egos she would definitely be able to at least make a list of their major characteristics and see who matches them.
For example Sailor Moon long Blonde hair in twin buns and twin pig tails, approximately X feet tall, eye colour blue, very panicky unless pushed into corner, approximate measurements , if any shoe prints are left anywhere you have a shoe size, and what area they typically acting as defender in, friends with primarily 4 other girls who match the attributes to the other scouts.
Yeah, I agree. That's why I like fic's where that whole 'big freeze' gets derailed. And I agree with you, that is lazy writing. Coincidentally, Toffe is one of my favorite villains because he's actually SMART.
p.s.(deep breath) Look, about the list...look I'm currently focusing on my BIG project/commission(people are actually PAYING me to finish this), adjusting to my new 40 hour a week job(it's a night time gig(never done that before), so I'm basically having to flip my sleep patterns among other things) and health issues(which I'm pretty sure was cause by the former)...I don't have time to get into it with you...but very soon...when all that's taken care of...you and I...I think we need to have a LONG talk...
Goodbye until then, have a good week!
hi , i was on fanfiction and i was curious with the your answer to this comment.

You do understand that magical girls shows are made in mind to appeal entirely to a demogaphric composed mainly of preteen little girls?
Japan has a very specific and very well determined classification system that is ment to focus on a precise subsector of the population.
It is not like in the US when a kids' show is released with the idea that it most appeal to all kind of publics and all ages.
No, in Japan when an intelectual property is released, it is made with a specific public in mind, and only that public. Their releases are never made to appeal to the general masses, only to a certain demographic.
In the magical girl case, this is shojo, which means it is aimed at the teen female target demographic. Which means it was not made with neither you or me in mind.
Go read a shonen, which is for young boys, like dragon ball, My heroAca or demon Slayer if you want something more to a male audience.
But if you truly consider yourself already an adult man and not a boy then go read a Seinen like Berserk, Hellsing or twenty century boys.
So I don't know what you are doing complaining about a genre aimed specifically at teenage girls? When it didn't even took into consideration your tastes during its initial brainstorm!
Do you know what else was made with only teenage girls in mind. Twilight. And I very well know Twilight is shit to my tastes, but you do not see me getting work up about it, ranting over it or writting an entire chapter just to throw shade at an entire literary genre because of it.
Seriously, what the hell? Why do you care if the characters of a show made for little girls are idiots? It's like complaining about the disney princesses movies being made for girl childs in mind. What, you are gonna also start pointing out the failings of those movies too? It is disturbing, and mighty unsettling when you think about it.
All you're doing by badmouthing an entire fiction genre for such petty reasons is looking like that fat bastard that was screaming at an infant girl in a mall until she cried for coloring Twilight sparkle yellow. Of all stupid things.
Also, magical girls do not need to speak in order to launch their spells. The entire Screaming your attack cliche is simply an audience aid made to keep the attention of the public. It is a trope brought about by the influence of tokusatsus like Kamen Rider or Super Sentai. Aka Power Rangers.
And do you think the Power Rangers will be unable to launch their attacks whether or not they are able to speak? Of course not!
Its like Ryu screaming Hadoken or Goku screaming Kame Hame Ha. Will they be incapable of launching their signature attacks just because they can't speak?
It is irrelevant whether they shout or not, that attack is gonna hit nevertheless. It is the same with magical girls, this is proven over the fact many of them start posing and doing wand movements before they start to vocalize the name of their attacks. Sometimes they don't even shout their names since they became engrossed in some speech and in rare ocassions they forgo all the showboating and simply launch their attacks quick and dirty.
Also, nevermind the fact series like Sailor Moon apply the excuse of magical illusion to explain why no one recognize them in their civilian identities, that doesn't mean they dont have experiencie about fighting in their civvies.
Villians have targeted their schools in the past and they've had to investigate as civilians before revealing their heroic personas.
Sailor Galaxia, in both the 90s anime and manga targeted them in their civilian identities and went to hunt them down either at their own homes, in the case of Hotaru, or in public when their guard was down, in the case of tuxedo mask whom she killed in an airport in front of Moon.
Galaxia hunted and killed all of Moons friends one by one and then raised them back as slave zombies and sent them to attack Moon. She killed them all at the same time, then killed Galaxia and then went to fight Chaos and then when all the sh1t storm was done she rezed herself and brought everybody back to life.
So to think you can defeat her by targeting either her friends and family is retarded in extreme. Since if you hurt one of her loved ones she will hunt you down, murder you and then she will simply proceed to rez her friends back to life and move on with her life.
Especially since all of her friends are of the self sacrificing archetype that will not hesitate killing themselves if it will mean they stop some threat from fulfilling their plans. Like Chiaotzu did when he blew himself up in his attempt to kill Nappa.
It is not the first time she has had to either ressurect her friends or bring the entire population of the planet back to life (including her family) after some threat wiped out all of humanity.

as for the big freeze
I think it was the fault of princess kaguya ( serenity ? ) who woke up/resurrected on the moon and sent specters of ice to freeze the earth and preserve its beauty ?
it was something like that in a wow/movie the sailors and tuxiden kamen, fought against the specters and she, but I think the freezing magic continued even after her defeat (kaguya/serenity?), I'm not sure because this ova/movie doesn't continued, so this is my theory about the big freeze.
it wasn't something they didn't fight, it was something they couldn't stop.
based on this ova/movie I mentioned which I don't remember the name of.

With Dragonball that’s ki attacks like in upper hero powers where you don’t need to say anything to use your powers. Like Superman eye beams.
The magical girls are chanting the spell to use their magic. They don’t perform non speaking magic. And if they can’t talk they can’t use magic. Like in Skyrim where you use the dragon shout which if you can’t talk you wouldn’t be able to use the dragon shout.

Or Shazam needs to say his magic words to be able to transform. Without being able to talk he can’t transform. Like in The Boys comic where the team disables the Shazam counterpart by cutting off the boys tongue and him unable to say the words right. Same thing with magic spells where you can’t say the words right.
