“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.” - C.S. Lewis

E

Your name is Trixie Lulamoon, or as you've taken to calling yourself The Great and Powerful Trixie, live your life as a roadside traveling magician for hire who performs shows from the comfort of your caravan.
This is what you've been reduced to. Performing pansy tricks to mere ponies who couldn't even start to comprehend the magical possibilities you had in you.
It's true that you faced off against Celestia's own protégé, one unicorn known as Twilight Sparkle. And you lost.
You have always hidden a grudge against her that is fueled with each cycle of the sun and moon passing. You became dead set to extract your revenge.
And now, the time has come. Your route as a magician-for-hire brings you back into Ponyville. Now it's time for you to face off against Twilight again, and reclaim what you lost that day.

I take it this is set slightly before Magic Duel? It's a good idea for a story. One thing you might have wanted to include towards the end, and I was disappointed that you didn't, was Trixie realizing that she might need a little extra help to defeat Twilight, and resolving to track down that amulet she'd heard about.

Some of the writing is a little weird in places. I don't really know what this line is supposed to mean:

And you always had that 'incident' with Twilight Sparkle a while ago by this point.

Maybe you meant something like this?

That 'incident' with Twilight Sparkle was history, but you had not forgotten it.

I love your descriptions of Trixie's attempts at cooking. They mesh quite well with one of my first stories.

Yeah, I'm currently thinking about it, but I'm not sure exactly how yet.

Oh? I'll get on to fixing that. And it does sound wierd.

And I imagine since she's on the road a lot, she doesn't have the best cooking skills of all time. Heck, I don't think I'd want scorched something.

Yeah, I'm currently thinking about it, but I'm not sure exactly how yet.

Oh, it's incomplete! I hadn't noticed that.

Not yet. Just ran into some writer's block with this story.
