I dislike clopfics. I think they're the most cliche and unoriginal and laziest pieces of fanfiction one could possibly ever create. Rarely do they have any proper story structure, or pacing, not even any actual romance as their tags mislead people to believe. It's just a f**kfest and the crappy writers know that's they're producing.
HOWEVER...
I...surprisingly cannot say that for this story. I mean, it's clearly rated Mature so there's going to be some sexual interaction later down the line. BUT this writer has actually done something VERY VERY few people ever do in their clopfics; s/he is setting up pace. Most clopfics go about several paragraphs before they hurl the damn porn at us, but here...no porn, and it's the first chapter! Amazing!
Also, most clopfics present pathetic situations and severely poor excuses for how the characters get into their - cough cough *loving* cough cough - sexual situation. But with this story's description, I can actually believe this sort of thing happening. I mean, humans are willing to do almost anything to help support themselves and their loved ones, even things they'd be ashamed of admitting to.
So...astonishingly, I find myself kinda supporting this fanfic.
If the writer takes care not to throw the porn in our faces too early, and at least builds up to it, maybe give us some insight into how Rarity thinks and feels about the whole thing, I think this could work. I don't want to believe that this author will go the shit route and abandon story structure, pacing and character development just to pile a shitload of cliche and unoriginal porn crap onto us immediately after this decent setup.
So long story short - I'm going to take a chance and see how this progresses. Let's see how this plays out. I mean I've come across another writer who proved to me that clopfics can be written in a respectable and excellent manner unlike the other 08% of bollocks on this site, so let's see if this person can improve that statistic a little.
