Stay awhile, and listen.

The Weather Corps: older than Equestria itself, this organization and its members have worked to keep ponies safe from the ravages of natural weather for centuries. It's no easy job, especially with magic around to wreak havoc with even the most benign systems. Yet even as nature lashes out in impersonal fury, a cold, calculating intelligence is waiting in the wings for its chance to seize power and enforce its will upon everypony.

But the Corps is not without its own resources and new ideas, and its members stand ready to do their duty. Even if they need help once in a while.

This story was partially inspired by Birdco's art and writing, and also by the now-defunct webcomic Storm Corps by Chester Lucero (sadly no longer online). However the story, characters, and most (though not all) ideas are original, so this is not strictly a crossover.

Given a "dark" tag for some instances of pony death. Nothing graphic, however. Given the upcoming "Hurricane Fluttershy" episode, I have preemptively marked this as "alternate universe" since undoubtedly canon will Joss this story hard. But I still want to tell it because Pinkie Pie demands it, and she's in my head and won't leave. SEND HELP. And cake, lots of cake and cupcakes and- Pinkie! Get away from the finger control nexus!

EDIT: Cover picture is be Icaron on DeviantArt.

Final note: I consider "Into the Storm" by Gamma Ray to be the theme for this story. m/ Though "The Unsung War" is my unofficial Weather Corps anthem.

Looks interesting. Not sure if I have time to get around to reading as I now have 35 unread chapters tracking.
I love your choice of theme. Might I suggest Respect the Wind by Eddie and Alex Van Halen as a closing theme?

im really likeing this so far

305837 never heard that song before oh and 35 unread must be nice going on 95 here

It was the ending credits theme to the film Twister.

And the 35 is only on FiMFiction, not counting GDocs FF.net and DA.

That was cool, but not quite what I was thinking. I'll post a link to the ending theme I have in mind when it comes time. ;)

For now, I'd also say this is also a good additional theme. It fits in pretty well, IMHO.
