So often we take for granted those who love us the most. It's been a 1,000 years since last Luna stepped foot in Equestria, and all her loyal subjects are long dead. All but one.
Cloud Twist is a pegasus pony and the most loyal subject of Her Majesty, Princess Luna. On that fateful night when his Princess descended into darkness, and Nightmare Moon was released, there was nopony who mourned more than he. So it was that he sought out an aging unicorn of immense power, for only this unicorn could grant Cloud Twist with his one true wish, to see his Princess once more.
Notice: I am looking for cover art and while I have not described Cloud Twist in these chapters I would like to see how the readers imagine him as I am writing it so if anybody would like to create cover art for the story please let me know :) I am also looking for an editor to help me proofread the story and get some of the more minute details correctly displayed.
MadameDragonFlower, along with editing the first few chapters of this original version of the story, has also written her own take on the idea and it can be found here. The first two chapters are almost identical but after that they take completely different directions. Currently it appears to be on hiatus.
just a quick update. I am making an epub version of this story so those with mobile devices will be able to read this on there when it is finished. Seriously though, I really am enjoying this so far, your chapters are a little on the short side (my only real complaint) but everything else seems great! Haven't noticed grammar mistakes, haven't noticed any editing mistakes, HAVE noticed that you are good at writing in Middle English.
On top of that, this stories plot so far is very interesting, I have only seen one like it, and it was an HiE fic so it has its own little space. I hope that this particular story will be filling up a spot on my favorites list on my page alongside the greats I have found on this site. Anyways, please let it be that this isn't dead!

haha it's not dead, I am going to work on chapter 7 tonight (chapter 6 is awaiting the editor). I am so happy that you enjoyed the story thusfar. It's an idea I have had since first joining the fandom and was afraid to try and write it for fear of not doing it justice, but now that I have started I won't be stopping anytime soon.
I am also hoping I can start making longer chapters. I have a tendency to stop the chapter when I reach the end of a scene though I know it doesn't necessarily have to end there.

A bit of a status report for those waiting for the next chapter. Chapter 7 is almost finished, it's undergoing a final round of editing and will then be posted. I have begun working on Chapter 8 while I wait on my editor but so far it's falling short of my expections. I hop that you can all be patient while I work to make this story as awesome I can
I have placed the story on hiatus. I have absolutely no clue how to put my thoughts on paper, or type as it were, as far as this story goes. I may return to this story one day but for now I am setting on a shelf.
So I have managed to get my own life back on track and I feel it is time I began writing again. This story will be removed from hiatus and you can expect a new chapter within the week.
I cant wait to meet these rather interesting characters. ~Itll be fun~

so sorry for the lack of updates. I recently came out to my family as tg and everything has just been wow. I will start working on the new chapter tonight or tomorrow morning and will try to get it written within a few days.

Lunar Sweets reminds me of Pinkie Pie abd Storybook Heart kinda reminds me of Fluttershy. I guess every town needs to have a Pinkie Pie.
5045883 as I was writing Storybook Heart I did notice the parallel with Fluttershy but it was more because of the situation, awed by the princess, embarrassed at being found crying, and being talked to by a strange pony. I imagine her as being much different than Fluttershy though this chapter didn't show it.
Lunar Sweets however, that was an intentional parallel. I had to ask myself what the best form of communication would be in such a large city that would allow everypony to hear the news in just one night. The only answer would be Pinkie. For obvious reasons I couldn't put her there so I created Lunar Sweets, similar yet different.
