I Love You, Mom!

Twilight Velvet sighed and hung up. She knew her daughter had no time for her anymore, but still Shining Armor bothered to mail in the midst of his important duties. Her husband Nightlight was away in Manehattan for a meeting with the mayor so she couldn't speak to him either. "Oh, Twilight," she wept, tears rolling down her cheeks. "How I wish you'd just phone me this one time."

A baby dragon and a lavender pony ran around Ponyville Library, shelving books and dusting every square inch of the place. "We must leave no trace of dust here, Spike! The health inspector is very conscious about it!" Twilight reminded Spike, flustered from shelving books in their respective places. Spike coughed, dust entering his nose. "Yes, yes," he sputtered. "I know, you've told me a million and one times already." She wiped the surface of the table he was cleaning with her hoof, and checked. The hoof was grey- no, wait, it was black. The surface that her hoof skimmed across was black too. "Dust, dust! Clean it up now, Spike, or I'll kill you!" she screamed into his ear.

"Twilight, stop getting flustered about the health inspection thingy. It's five in the morning and the inspector won't be here until two! Besides, that isn't dust. That book you just touched had ink on it - and look, you've stained the floor as well! Do you know how long it took me to clean it with a toothbrush?"

The small conversation soon turned into a heated argument even though their friends were at the door. "Ahm... Twi, why're ya screamin' at Spike?" asked Applejack, face full of confusion.

"Yes, who started it anyway? Spikey-Wikey or you?"

"Um... p-please stop fighting... if that's okay with you..."

"Hey, this isn't fun!"

Rainbow Dash swooped over and pushed them apart as soon as it started to get a bit physical, Twilight tugging at his scales and Spike pulling her purple mane. "Stop it, you two!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, and the two friends stopped, hooves and hands in the air. "You're supposed to be friends, not enemies! Besides, you're roommates! We came to tell you that we'll be going out of town for a while-" Rainbow's words were cut off by the shocked unicorn.

"Why?! I thought our party was this Sunday!"

"Yeah, but we realized that we needed to fix the date to Tuesday, since this Sunday is Mother's Day. I'll be accompanying Fluttershy to Cloudsdale to meet my new stepmother. And Applejack will be in Appleoosa to celebrate all the family's moms. Rarity will be catching the train over to Neigh York to see her mom and dad too. I'm not so sure about Pinkie's parents, but I heard they're in Manehattan and she'll be going there. What about you?"

Twilight was struck dumb by that last sentence. "Er... I.. um.."

"Twilight, don't tell me you've never phoned or even visited your mom since you came here." Her friends' jaws were wide open, even Spike, who had a little scratch on a scale. Twilight breathed heavily in and out.

"Okay, I confess. I've never phoned my mom since I came here. Really, I have better things to do."

"Just phone her this once, Twi, it won't do any harm."

Rainbow Dash handed her friend her PonyPhone. Twilight grumbled and started to press buttons at the keypad. She pressed 'call' and held the phone up to her ear.

"Hello, Twilight Velvet speaking from Fimfiction Studios, how can I help you?"

"Mom? Mom, is that you?"

She heard her mother gasp for a second, then reply. "T-twilight, i-is that you? I've been looking all over!"

"Yes, Mom, it's me. I wanted to wish you a Happy Mother's Day in advance. Where are you right now?"

"I'm in Appleoosa currently, on a work trip with my boss. I'm in Fimfiction Studios Appleoosa, to be exact."

"Great! I'll be visiting soon, bye!"

"Goodbye, dearest Twilight, I'll see you soon!"

The train chugged away, leaving Applejack and Twilight standing on the train station. "If ya need anythin' ya know where ta find me, right? Ya remember?" Applejack nudged the lavender unicorn, pointing to the apple orchard where Braeburn lived. Twilight nodded and trotted over to the pathway where Finfiction Studios was. It wasn't long before she spotted the building - a large, magenta wooden house with neon rope lights hanging from the roof. A middle-aged mare was standing at the entrance, waiting for someone. She had a greyish-white coat with a white mane with a few purple stripes. Her cutie mark was three purple stars. It was Twilight Velvet, her mom. "Mom! Mom, I'm here!" she yelled, raising up her arm and waving it about to show the unicorn that she was there. The ponies around her stared and thought she was crazy. Velvet didn't seem to notice. The daughter ran over to her mom and hugged her tight, trying to make Velvet notice. It was only when she had given her a little shake that Velvet had snapped out of her trance. She seemed panicky to see Twilight Sparkle. "What, what?! Is there a fire? Are you hurt?" Velvet asked, flustered.

"No, I'm fine. I just wanted to say..."

"What is it, spit it out! I want to hear it before my boss comes and finds out you're here!"

Twilight hugged her mother tighter. "I just want to say, I love you, Mom!"

Is there more?

2582023 No, sorry. Forgot to change the 'Incomplete' to Complete'. :twilightsheepish:

Feels kinda cut short near the middle. There's a disconnect there

Completely out of character Twilight. Thumbs down on this one.

Dear Muffin,

I recently came across your story "I Love You, Mom" on Fimfiction.net, and I wanted to share some thoughts with you. Firstly, I appreciate your creative effort and dedication to writing within the My Little Pony universe. It's always exciting to see fans expressing their love for these characters through fanfiction.

However, after reading your story, I found myself quite perplexed. While I understand that fanfiction allows for creative liberties, I couldn't help but feel that the portrayal of Twilight Sparkle was quite out of character. Twilight is typically depicted as patient, understanding, and nurturing, especially towards Spike, whom she considers family.

In your story, Twilight's behavior, particularly her yelling at Spike, felt jarring and inconsistent with her established personality traits. It left me questioning the authenticity of her character within the narrative. Furthermore, the premise of the story seems to conflict with the established dynamics of Twilight and Spike's relationship, as they share a bond built on mutual respect and affection.

I encourage you to revisit the characterization of Twilight Sparkle and consider how you can stay true to her established traits while still exploring the themes you wish to convey in your story. By maintaining consistency with the characters, your narrative will likely resonate more strongly with readers who are invested in the My Little Pony universe.

Thank you for your dedication to writing and for sharing your work with the fandom. I look forward to seeing how you continue to develop as a writer.

Best regards, Artist.

PS, this paragraph does not make any sense whatsoever, it is just a wall of text. It makes no sense, please go back and rewrite it, or delete it if it does not fit.
