As Misty runs away from the brighthouse in a guilty panic, an unrelated botched spell leads to her meeting a fiery unicorn with a similar story to tell

After numerous failed attempts to follow even the simplest of tasks, Opaline sends Misty out for one last mission, if she is to return unsuccessful then chances of getting her cutie mark will be forfeit, and she will be banished from the castle. Her mission is to extract information from Sheriff Hitch, or steal Sparky Sparkeroni, and if she is to fail then she'll have hell to pay.

Opaline Arcana is formed from layer upon layer of mental instabilities, the countless delusions brought on by eons of isolation giving impressions of nigh-infinite evil. And she already cracked a long time ago.

First it was stealing Sunny's lantern. Then it was snatching up little baby dragon Sparky. Misty has just failed in not one, but two critical missions Opaline ordered of her. Though she had tried her absolute hardest, that didn't stop Opaline from really letting her have it—so much so that Misty begins to reflect on where she's at in life.

While singing her villain song, Opaline accidentally opens a line of communication with Misty. This quickly devolves into a conversation about the aspects of Opaline's songwriting...and, for some reason, movie villains.
