This tale was strongly inspired by Larry Niven’s All the Myraid Ways. Though I only read it once many years ago, it left a powerful impression on me, and you can definitely see that in this story.

Special thanks also to B_Munro, for recognizing the stories’ similarities and telling me who wrote that splendid story I’d read as a child, and what the name of it was.

Due to the nature of the discussion which follows this tale, there are comments - including mine - which may contain spoilers to varying degrees (depending on what you consider an actual spoiler). The more serious spoilers are behind the usual black boxes, of course.

Yes, unfortunately. Compared to her ancestors, Starhelm is a walking disappointment… at least when it comes to magic. While her bloodline used to cast spells that moved mountains, she can barely light a candle without setting her mane on fire.

And as if that weren’t enough, no one takes her seriously. Who would, when her weapon of choice isn’t an elegant magical sword but… a shovel?

Yep. A shovel. And she’s really good with it, by the way.

Her life? A charming disaster.
Her fate? To stumble into more adventures than she can handle (and probably drag others along for the ride).

By the way, she has memories of a past life when she was human...

This is a story of a dragon and a twist of fate. Sometimes a dream can become a reality. A dream you never thought would ever become possible. One you didn't even know you truly wanted. The real question one should ask themselves is "Do I truly want this?". Only time can answer such questions. But what if those answers only leave ever the more questions? Perhaps friendship will count now, more than ever.

Goldcap, Decepticolt, and Zappityhoof were exhausted from another attempt to become alicorns. It wasn't until they see a handsome stallion by the name of Feather Bangs. All three of the mares fall head over hooves for him but they realized that there were three of them and one of Feather. Due to the Pseudocorns' competitive nature, they go against each other.

When invited to the Grand Galloping Gala, Capper wasn't expecting to catch the eye of the princess of the night. And after a small moment between the two, he dare believes that there could be something more. However, a quick reminder of the past might make him think otherwise. But maybe, just maybe, he could be someone that Luna would like.

The friendships of Equestria are worth fighting for and they are worthy of being preserved. Ponies and creatures die and make room for new generations, but ideas, experiences and stories live forever.
All she needed to do was to ensure that Equestria's future generations can learn about their friendships and what made them special. And Twilight had just the plan for that.

A love letter to all the ponies and creatures of Equestria and to the show, comics and books that gave me the chance to learn who I truly am.
We don't know what the future holds, but as long as we don't forget and don't stop to care about the ponies and creatures we've met, the friendships forged in Equestria will never leave us.
