Before the tales of alicorn sisters, before the Elements of Harmony, and before Equestria itself… there was a tower.

In a distant age, the world stands divided—its foundations fractured, its skies uneasy, and its magic stretched thin. Atop a lonely hill, the legendary archmage Starswirl the Bearded seeks to teach those who might shape the future. Among them is a strange young human named Many Roads, sharp of mind and stranger still for having no magic of his own.

When two noble sisters—Celestia and Luna—arrive at the tower as Starswirl’s newest pupils, misunderstandings quickly spark conflict. Yet beneath awkward first meetings and smoldering tempers lies a shared truth: all three are outsiders, burdened by expectation, longing for a place to belong.

Together, they will uncover forgotten truths, face ancient tensions, and take the first steps toward something far greater than themselves. But before legends can be born, they must learn to understand one another… and survive their own growing pains.

Three souls. One tower. And a world waiting to be changed.

But he's not gonna sit on the sidelines like he did in Smallville. He has these gifts for reason. For when it feels like the world is crashing down around you, there's ALWAYS hope.
As an old friend put it, you're either man... or Superman.

This story is a sequel to Pressed Powders, Pink Pouts

"Oh, and don't forget to oil the tray, sweetie, or the potatoes won't come off once they're cooked." Velvet reminded as she chopped up mushrooms. It was the first time in years she had taught anyone how to cook. And Cadance was the best student she had ever had. A lot better than her own son atleast, who invented more shortcuts than he learnt cooking methods. She swore, if she ever again saw a pony teleport the entire seasoning bottles into the pot instead of sprinkling them in like a normal pony -

Well, the point was that Velvet's kids were terrible at cooking.

Well, atleast one of them was.

She knew Shiny wouldn't last a week without the castle chefs. But Twily - she hadn't the faintest clue? And she wasn't sure she would ever learn the answer to that. Once - close to seven years ago - Velvet had dreamed of teaching her only daughter the recipes that her Maredrasian grandmare and Bucklynite mother had taught her when she was a little filly herself. She had dreamed of teaching Twily of all the wonderful meals she ate growing up in the Lower Manehattan market street and in a student apartment in Vanhoover.

But that wouldn't be. It had been three years since she had seen her daughter. Three years in which she wondered how much Twily had grown up. And as she wished she was teaching her daughter instead of a mare who might become her daughter-in-law, she couldn't help but wonder if Princess Celestia ever taught her daughter how to make a mushroom bake.

For Queen Phacelia, building her hive right under a pony settlement didn't seem like such a bad idea at the time. Really, if anything, it was convenient!

It wasn't exactly ideal that it turned out the Elements of Harmony were living right upstairs, but she could cope.

And the constant crises Ponyville kept finding itself in ever since were annoying, but hiding deep underground, she was spared most of it.

...And then her sister just *had* to go and reveal the changelings' existence to all of Equestria.
