Demeter's Plant
This week, after messing around using the PlantNet app to identify, or misidentify, the weeds in my garden, I decided to see what it could tell us about the plant life of Equestria. The way it works is you feed it a photo, and it applies the magic of machine learning to reference it against a database of images and identify the best fit. A very useful tool for botany students and gardeners. The accuracy has improved a lot in recent years, thanks to photographs
Inspiration has been fleeting due to the stress of my dissertation. So, while I try to get my creative mojo going again, allow me to distract you all with pretty pictures of tiny plants taken with the super-macro setting on my camera (my actual camera. I don't have a smart phone, nor do I want one).
First up - Liverworts!
Now that the fields are plowed, it's time to plant them.
There are broadly two different ways to accomplish this. Either you put the seeds underground, or you sow them on top of the ground.

Hello everyone and welcome back to the question of the week.
While it might be tempting to go ahead and just repost the questions I had in regards to AI, conceptualization and commissions here, I'm not going to do that today.
Instead, I wanted to talk about something else.
Elderflower’s story of the Together Trees in Father of the Bridlewood gives me an excuse to fact-check a science story that I have been meaning to look into for a while. She says, “Together Trees communicate and connect magically to each other through their roots underground.” This sounds like something that has featured in quite a few books and documentaries in recent years—the idea that threads of fungi connect tree roots underground and allow plants to exchange nutrients and
I'm cutting away a bunch of undergrowth on the hillside behind our house (making room for a garden, getting more sun on the pool, getting the back deck to feel less cramped...), and the easiest way to deal with what I cut down seems to be a burn pile. Thing is, some of these plants I can't identify, and I'm wary of burning them without knowing that, because I'm well aware that some plants can produce toxic smoke.
On Derpibooru, I just noticed that Phyllis the philodendron actually has her own character tag, and now I have to ask:
When are we going to see someone write a clopfic starring her?
Another wild Not-A-Contest story appears!
Mica has graced us with a story about a pegasus and a steam factory.
If you like pegasuses or technology or ponies on Earth, you should read it.
Yesterday a friend and I sat in the grass at a park and then went to the grocery store to get those frosted cookies that are so bad for you. We also got pop-its since I'm old enough. Today another friend and I gave our friend a graduation gift that consisted of tea, chocolate, and a mug with a picture of us on it. I had a bit of trouble getting home, but I stopped by the hardware store and found this beautiful moon cactus. It was red, orange, and yellow and looked like fire! The
