Ways to un-stick a stuck story by firemoon42
• Do an outline, whatever way works best. Get yourself out of the word soup and know where the story is headed.
• Conflicts and obstacles. Hurt the protagonist, put things in their way, this keeps the story interesting. An easy journey makes the story boring and boring is hard to write.

After many delays and struggles with formatting cover art and other book-related tribulations, my first book of horse stories will soon be something y'all can buy with your real, human money! I've just ordered the test copy, so I can agonizingly take whatever red ink (it'll actually be black or blue, I don't like red pens) needs to be put to the pages before the final version is done. Lessee here... I put together the prologue over the course of three days, and wrote out the entire first chapter in about three hours. In the twenty hours since I published that chapter, The Locals has been met with:
•Fourteen likes.
•Zero dislikes.
•Six comments, one of which was my own.
•Ninety-eight views.
•A constant spot on the Popular Stories sidebar.
•Sixty-one bookshelf additions.
•And twenty-six users tracking its updates.
November was a good month for me, both for writing and in meat space.
Writing-wise, I put out three stories last month. This is a new record for me. Seriously, I'm more inconsistent than quality in a DC superhero movie.
The last story I posted in November did... Well, astoundingly well. I expected to get a few chuckles and then have my story get buried by others of higher quality.
Of course, my wince didn’t go unnoticed by the mistress of the night.
