Present Perfect vs. Sweet Apple Massacre · 5:33pm Oct 7th, 2020
Back during the Bleeding Raindrops blog, I said I was skipping his reading of Sweet Apple Massacre and that it was "for the best of all involved".

Dennis the Menace's My Roommate Is a Vampire was suggested to me for review by Midnight_Quill, who was my 400th follower, and who happened to be sitting next to me at the time. Any anger I feel towards him should actually be directed at myself instead, because I sort of bullied him into picking it. That'll learn me.
Well, Imposing Sovereigns II just wrapped up submissions, so I thought it might be a good time to power through the last half-dozen Sunset shipfics even though there are more important things I need to be doing today. <.< I'm so glad I'm done.
Continuing on with my new style...
Okay, compared to my last review or audition really this is actually quite tame. ...Then again, anything compared to 350k words would be quite, quite tame I should think. Anyways, on with the motley.
Yes, instead of just focusing on my pony review posts I'm going to link every post I've done on the other blog since I did one of these. Which was before my trip so there's going to be a lot of them. I split off the actual trip posts into a section of themselves at the bottom since they are much lighter on content.
So this is easily the best reviewing format I’ve ever seen.
For those of you seeking advice on your writing (and who isn’t, really), cleverpun has a brief but solid blog about writing children that should definitely be read.
Know what I haven't done in a while? Shared my group reviews.
Of course, I haven't done many in a while, so I guess this is to be expected.
Not all clop this time, but still mostly that.
[Review] The Hammer to Rarity's Anvil {Clop} (Enjoyable) by Surry (Mature, Sex)
Okay, okay. Been wanting to do this one for a long, long time.
Never been much of a Flashlight fan I admit except for perhaps one or two authors, -winks at PonyJosiah- and I’m still curious why exactly I clicked on this, to begin with, to be perfectly honest. Maybe I was bored, I dunno. Or I had nothing better to read. It happens, we all have days like that. But enough of my rambling. On with the motley.
Okay, more quickie reviews, this time of several stories. First up, Reconciliation by xd77.
Now this one? I'm sorry, but there's... Well, at least in my opinion anyways, it felt like there was no real depth to this story. Just Twilight going to apologize to the CMC and going through the motions. And before anyone cries it's only 1,120 words, bull. I've seen quite a few authors do more with even less of a word count.
4/10
Never has the "vs." denotation been more a propos than now. I have a serious bone to pick with this story, as it has wronged me personally on at least one occasion. But let's not jump ahead of the review here. (Reading by Scribbler, et. al.; Reading by Nightfire5150; Reading by Midnight29, et. al.;
Yeah, I should be writing, but the audiobooks are piling up and I wanted to get this done. Here we go, my thousandth review of the year! I knew I could do it! And for the occasion, I picked a classic sadfic that I've been meaning to vs. post on for a while: Patchwork Poltergeist's Somewhere Only We Know. Be sure you've read it before checking below the break: here be spoilers!
I'm sure you're all sick of seeing blogs that start with these words, but it's the year 2020 — and I have no idea what successful ponyfiction looks like anymore.
BOOK 1: 1-16 || BOOK 2: 17-33 || BOOK 3: 34-49 || BOOK 4: 50-62 ||
Given that I helped with the sequels to Nicknack's Heart of Gold, Feathers of Steel and also reviewed them, it amazes me I never got around to the original story. Like, I have to keep going back and checking my spreadsheet because I could swear the review's in there somewhere.
Hey, you! Yes, you!
Do you think Fallout: Equestria is too grimdark and serious to be any fun?
Well, so did hahatimeforponies, and that's why he wrote Fallout Equestria: Duck and Cover!
Imma review it now!

This is stupid.
I'm literally in the middle of reading ROBCakeran's entry for the Outside Insight contest, and I realized, hey, is this the first of his stories I've reviewed since MLD?
And then I find out
After a week-long hiatus, I'm suddenly doing all the things. (I could potentially post one more journal today!) Today's review post is brought to you by not one, but two readings, by DrWolf001 and Indubitably Ponified. (Points to the latter for the ensemble cast and actually reading out the acronym.) (Here's another one by
You know, when Displaced stories are done right, they really do a good job. When they're done wrong... Well, quite a few of us have seen the results. Sadly, today's fic is of the latter variety of Displaced fics. Whoop dee fucking do. And as it concerns my favorite Autobot, Optimus Prime himself, makes me even more annoyed. I'll try to remain unbiased, but if I want to tear my own hair out at the end of this... Sucks in breath You won't blame me... right?
Okay, so back to reviewing. First off, an update though. One of the previous fics I reviewed, Reconciliation by xd77, the author of said story deleted negative comments against the story, so congrats. You just earned yourself an even lower score! 3/10 now. But anyways, to the main review at hand, and I'm happy to say that this story will be scoring much higher.
The story in question?
So I'm playing Kingdom: New Lands. Just found out that the second thing to find it the fifth area is a unicorn. Cool! So next one I load I'm looking around and see a new background. Which is how I know what is about to pop up. I see the majestic white with blonde mane unicorn... and my first gut reaction is "Dammit, it's Blueblood."
