    *eye roll*

me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

Been a hell of a ride, honestly. I just apologize for dragging it on for so long.

Never been much of a Flashlight fan I admit except for perhaps one or two authors, -winks at PonyJosiah- and I’m still curious why exactly I clicked on this, to begin with, to be perfectly honest. Maybe I was bored, I dunno. Or I had nothing better to read. It happens, we all have days like that. But enough of my rambling. On with the motley.

Story: 10/10

Now, the story itself is an anthology piece that focuses on the crucial points of Flash -still not sure why he ditched the human world for Twilight, or why the pony Flash wasn’t used but minor nitpick- Twilight, and their child’s life. From birth, to death, to all the major points in between. Now, strictly speaking, I’ve never been a parent and to be honest I’m not sure I want to go through the mess -at times- that’s caring for kids. Caring for kids scares me honestly. Seriously, don’t even know how to interact with my own niece. But anyways, I’m rambling again really. Now, first time reviewing an anthology piece I admit so I will probably take a few missteps here and there, but this story is absolutely wonderful and it’s all thanks to surprise surprise… the characters.

Characters: 10/10

Every family-focused story is driven by its characters. If you don’t make the readers believe this is like an actual family, you fail catastrophically from the get-go. Thankfully, I can say this story succeeds. Your heart will break, you will laugh, you will feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside at each moment in the Sparkle Family’s life. They feel… Well, real. Like real people. Aside from being magical talking pretty ponies, but that’s besides the point.

Grammer: 8/10

Few odd missteps here and there, but not enough to be brutally distracting.

Final Notes?

Would almost certainly recommend.
