I did a thing... · 7:02am Jul 18th, 2019
Yep, that's right! I jumped on the BronyCon Bookstore bandwagon.
Yep, that's right! I jumped on the BronyCon Bookstore bandwagon.
The BronyCon schedule is out, and the time and place to see bookplayer, Epic Yarn, and myself discuss that madness that is writing about/with/in-spite-of children has been declared. For better or worse, it's Thursday at 1:15. Throw ideas of things we should cover on the
But first…
Hello new folks. I expect most of you were lured into this oubliette by the RCL’s feature of “Ten Seconds”, but regardless of the circumstances, I’d like to thank you for the vote of confidence. As those who’ve hung around these parts will attest, this is the place where I ramble on various topics, which may or may not be of interest to sane people. This one should be a bit pony relevant, as it is about my time at BronyCon 2017.
This is my BronyCon recap blog. There are many like it, but this one is mine. (And/or Limestone’s. More about her later.)
To all who are interested, I just finished uploading all of the stories that will be featured in my story collection Endings at BronyCon's Golden Oaks Bookstore (save the story Hard Deadline, which I will be uploading after the con so purchasers can read it first). Below are the descriptions for each story and their theme regarding "endings":
Hey folks.
So, I said it before, and I'm saying it again. I'm going to be at Bronycon this year. I'll be wandering drunkenly, and if you want to come say hi, you'll be more likely to recognize my escort Flutterpriest, who I'm rooming with. (Hint, he'll be wearing a suit and his face will be green)
Just a reminder to all my readers, I will be attending BronyCon this year. If you'd like to meet me or say hi, just let me know. I'll be posting my schedule at Quills and Sofas each day, so when you see I'm supposed to be in the room, just stop by. Alternatively, send me a message here and we can work something else out. Hope to see some of you there.
Schedule date time and place posted for the panel I'm on!

I AM SUPER EXCITE
As many people have already said, the agenda has been released. I'm on two panels this year, and unfortunately, they both got shoved into the evening schedule, where they're not likely to get as much of an audience. But if they sound like they might interest you, or you just want to say hello to me and the other fine panelists, please stop by!
God willing, within 24 hours I should be in the lovely* city of Baltimore to chill with everypony at Bronycon. If last year is any indication, you will find me hanging out off and on at Quills and Sofas, probably with my back against a wall of some description and trying to not look terrified. For more concrete ways to see me, check out my two panels, both on Friday night: Advanced Writing at 6:30, and Writing Comedy II at 9:30.
In 24 hours, I'll be on my way down to Bronycon.
I still need to pack. I am maybe the worst about traveling.
If you see me there, pls say hi :D I am shy but somewhat friendly.
Bronycon 2016 has been nothing but amazing so far. From the awesome panels to the great atmosphere. Oh and the merchandise...
The Writeoff party was great. I finally got to meet a lot of authors from this site. Also I was introduced to the madness to Twilight's Secret Shipfic Folder: it lasted 4 hours and no one won; we just ended it for sake of our sanity.
Submissions to run an event at Bronycon are due before 11:59pm EST on March 10th.
That's just under 27 hours from now.
We have a great writing track at Bronycon, but it is usually the same people panel after panel and year after year. That's because these people get electronically together well ahead of time and plan panels.
The Bronycon event proposal form has a box for the applicant to "include any relevant links that can show us how your panel/activity went or demonstrate your experience."
Does anyone have photos or videos of "And That's How Equestria Was Made" at Bronycon 2017? Testimonials, matrimonials, or accounts of miraculous cures? (I'm gonna need those anyway when I apply for sainthood.)
I have this video of it, but it's a little shaky.
In short, I made it back from my trip to Bronycon 2017 in good spirits, the wife still talks to me, I have more cool stuff and lots of physical meetings with virtual friends I’ve made over the last five years. More to follow later after I get it typed back up. Also, I’m considering adding the Tropes for Letters From a Little Princess Monster to the Tropes page for Monster in the Twilight, so suggestions are welcome.
It was good. I am tired. I am in pain. I’m considering getting better shoes. Aragon was lovely. I’m going to decompress and crash before I give a detailed rundown.
