Three Conversations at BronyCon, pt.0: Preamble · 1:37pm Aug 8th, 2019
This is my BronyCon recap blog. There are many like it, but this one is mine. (And/or Limestone’s. More about her later.)
This past weekend I was fortunate enough to spend two and a half days in Baltimore with a sizable portion of the MLP community. I took the chance to meet my three absolute favorite fandom authors (Pascoite, horizon, Georg) and even managed to speak to them in coherent sentences some of the time. Beyond that, I was able to meet an overwhelmingly huge number of fellow authors from the Writeoff community & elsewhere. Attempting to name everyone’s name up-front would be an exercise in self-flagellation on my part and disappointment on the part of those whom I might fail to name—and by Jove, if I’m going to flagellate myself publicly, I want people to enjoy it.
But I digress. This will be a three-blog series about three conversations that I had at BronyCon, and how those conversations shaped my overall experience. I’ll try to get these out quickly, but RL remains the main game I’ve gotta play right now. RL in fact had a significant influence on my BronyCon experience, because it led to me missing all of Sunday and a solid chunk of Thursday. Unfortunately I was constrained on both ends of the trip by family obligations. Such is life these days, and I’m just grateful that I got to go at all.
Tune in next time for our first conversation, where we’ll highlight Limestone’s thunderous domination of the BronyCon Bookstore!
(I mean... kind of. Kind of not. But y’know.)
Yeah, you did well with the Two Rules of Georg Conversation.
1) Convince him to actually talk.
2) Get him to shut up so others can talk. :)

I did enjoy your anecdotes.
It was nice meeting you at Bronycon. May we meet again.

It was good meeting you too, and may we meet again! Honestly, getting to meet so many people was a highlight of the whole thing.

You, sir, were super cool to finally meet as well, if only briefly. I loved it that so many people came from far and wide to join in the final BC. If it never should happen again, so be it; but at least it happened.

I'll confess that out of everyone I met at the con, I was the most embarrassingly tongue-tied trying to talk with you. I try not to trip over my words with people, but working with you on You've Got Spam! was a singular and memorable experience. Where, as I mentioned, "working with you" was more like "holy crap he's sending more words, I've gotta try to keep up!"
