Contained after the break: Three writing prompts in no particular order, a discussion about what makes a good writing prompt for different situations or reasons, and the friendliest competition in the comments section that you ever will see.
Would anyone be interested in my take on the Civil War at some point?
A sort of Harry Potter meets Game of Thrones pushed through MLP to be honest.
A few characters I've got planned.
Royal Equestria
Petal Periantha: A high-born student of Celestia, groomed to be the chosen heir to the realm.
Hardy Haybale: A peasant-born squire and student of Celestia.
Solomon Sunrisen: A mysterious prodigy and one of Celestia's best students.
For my 100th story project, I had an idea for a big collab I could organise.
A bunch of authors would write a story together — but each of them would write exactly 100 words each. It would have to involve at least ten authors to make it to the 1,000 word limit that Fimfiction requires, but I like to think that such a target could be easily reached.
But what do you think? Let me know in the comments, and remember to stay awesome.
Shipping. Some fans love it, others hate it. I believe that any ship is valid long as it has a well-developed story or is so ridiculous that has its charm. These are some couples who would like to read or write in a fanfic.
There are few things more frustrating than a glancing blow from inspiration; just enough for a title, but not where to take it. Below are two examples.
Alright, so I've been debating my life. Naw, I'm just kidding. I've been debating my OC's life. See, I'm trying to figure out whether I should make a backstory for ol' Prince here. (If you don't know who I mean, he's my profile pic.) I've been trying to figure out a way to do it, or if I should do it at all. I'm swamped in figuring out how to start. If you guys want me to, i'll do it but i'll need a little help. I'm not talking edits, although knowing how many words I miss at times, i'll
So, my latest story, Alone, was vastly more successful than anything I'd written before, and more than anything I expected from a oneshot sadfic - briefly featured, in the Popular Stories for about three days now, approved by Twilight's Library, and nearing 1,000 views. Not bad for a guy who considers himself a comedy author.
And despite considering myself that, most of my upcoming projects are more Sad or Dark.
I've posted in a few places that I "don't write clopfics" or, more specifically, that "I've promised not to share mature work".
Well, that promise was recently clarified, and isn't quite as restrictive as I first thought I'd agreed to.
So, expect some fics featuring Twilight/Fluttershy, Shining Armor/Cadance, Twilight/Celestia/Cadance, and Twilight/Fluttershy/Trixie in the near future. All will involve light to moderate bondage fetish, and technically are a single continuity.
I've always enjoyed those pony and game crossovers and recently I saw one that was full of potential but was wasted.

I was thinking of writing a story along the same vein but with less of the flaws that made this crash and burn.
What do you folks think?
Hey everyone! I'm working on being less lazy with my stories, but I have an issue. I simply have way too many ideas that i want to write down. The latest one being changeling related. I love changelings, and I love the idea of a human becoming a changeling. There just aren't many good or long fics about that. So, I really wanna write one that's similar in style to An Unexpected Twilight. I spent a lot of time thinking about it and I know a general idea of what I want. Only issue? I have four
I do have some Ideas as far as some new stories go but, I need another opinion.
For this website I have 3 story Ideas. For Fanfiction.net I have 2 story ideas. For Wattpad I have 2 story Ideas.
FiMFiction:
Idea #1: A cute story involving the Mane 6 and the Cutie-Mark Crusaders having a fun day at a carnival.
Idea #2: A follow up to my story "Funhouse" this time, the Mane 6 go to investigate the disappearances of the Cutie-Mark Crusaders.
Okay so I was playing transistor (great game by the way) when, not only did I just think "hey it be cool to see someone make a displace fic of this" but how you could even pull of someone being dragged along with Red and becoming Transistor.
Okay, y'all know the episode Fame and Misfortune right?
Have a class, which you basically looks at movies and learn about some techniques and editing and stuff.
Started wondering what if someone's super power is mild 4th wall acknowlesgement, and the ability to abuse Cheat Cuts.

(Assume this is a movie)
Some person in a bar. Idly swirling a drink with a straw. After several sips, notices he is running low. Drops a few bills and calls for bartender. Bartender still attending other people. Annoyed, he snaps his fingers.

I always felt that having a brain in one part of the body seems to leave a really venerable spot to protect. Instead of having grey matter completely concentrated in one area (aka head), parts of the brain are somewhat spread out across the nervous system, though still a bit higher than the center of mass. This might slow the brain's processing speed, though that is traded off for the ability of being somewhat more coordinated.
A bit of thinking about spell mechanics in the Dresden world.
Those "Force Rings" Dresden uses store a bit of kinetic energy from swinging his arm, for later use. Who said that it has to be generated by human forces?
Why not stick it to the end of a gun, to both reduce recoil and sound, to charge up a damage boost for pistol whipping?
Sledgehammer?
Drop it next to a live grenade, and hold it down with a heavy spike?
Can you store different forces?
Heat Energy?
I'm just listing off every story I have sitting in my projects folder at the moment, or at least the ones I have some interest in actually finishing. I do this in the hopes it will encourage me to actually work on them a bit more consistently. I doubt this will be effective.
Causality - What happens when time travel drives Twilight insane again, possibly twice. Adventure/Dark.
