Hello. I'm Purple Patch.
I'm British, currently studying Illustration in Bournemouth.
I've written a fic series which has its own Tropes Page (Huge Tropes fan ).
I got into Fimfiction two years ago. 2016 was a...difficult year for me and I needed an outlet. I found MLP fanart on Deviantart and I loved what they did, the love and thought put into something that wasn't even intended for them just inspired me.
I forget precisely when I was diagnosed with Aspergers but it answered a lot of questions.
It was almost a relief, up to then, I just thought there was something wrong with everyone else.
But in memory, my childhood to mid-teens divides pretty evenly between sitting at home doing my own thing and making a scene without realising it and getting laughed at.
Adults I never had a problem with, they all understood, but kids my age were a problem.
And honestly, I think it was a bit of an even-sided problem. I never helped myself.
It wasn't until Sixth Form that I finally worked to be accepted and by then my classmates had matured significantly.
And when I took my Art Foundation at East Surrey, I truly felt at home. There were lots of lovely, quirky people who understood me, who I could talk to whenever I wanted and about whatever I wanted.
Since then, its been a bit of a shaky ride getting through uni but I'm managing.

My name derives from Amanda Young from the Saw series, a fragile girl with self-destructing and addictive tendencies and from Rainbow Dash, obviously, but I'm a guy.
I was never diagnosed with autism or AS officially, since I am already over 30, and I head from a country where child psychology was lacking poorly when I was a kid. And a bunch of kindergarten workers who have seen Rain Man don't count as official medical diagnosis, though I have always had, and still having social difficulties.
It was clear since kindergarten that something is "wrong" with me, because unlike others, I had no friends and I was left alone, but there was no active bullying, yet. Well, I didn't have to wait much for that, it started in primary school. Most teachers (and my parents as well) couldn't handle the situation, given the very poor conditions and very few and outdated knowledge about autism and AS in 90's Hungary. My parents had the intention to help, but they didn't know how. And, well, they couldn't just listen to me, since they thought they knew better, so many times their so-called help only worsened the situation.
Bullying continued in middle school also, though at middle school I acquired 3 close friends and we were some sort of "boy four". My other 3 friends had friends and rich social connections outside the "boy four", but I didn't. Still, it was good and uplifting, since they deflected some of the "attacks" coming from outside. Outside from my viewpoint, other friends from their viewpoint.
There were times both in primary and in middle school when I was brought to my breaking point, mostly by humiliation through mean words, being laughed at or ugly faces shown to me, or some physical harassment like slight pushes or scattering my stuff. I always hated that our whole fucking society works on "pair people by two", since the beginning of primary school rows through many sports activities, dancing and apparently, relationships. Of course, nobody wanted to be in pair with me, which felt humiliating also. Sometimes I initiated the fight, but there was not a single time I won.
I went down to such depths that once in primary school I started picking on a classmate who had no antisocial tendencies neither personality disorders, but who was weaker than even me. Luckily, this lasted only one day and I quit it, since I saw that it didn't solve anything. Even though I only reserved to this once, I still feel ashamed about it, even until now, but feel free to hate or discriminate me even now ;)
I had the problems at university also. It was in my twenties when I started to read about AS after my father's suggestion, and it FINALLY helped. It didn't solve everything, but at least it uncovered the mystery. I started to understand my behavior as well as the behavior of those around me.
Of course, finding a job was like hell for me.
Now here I am. I have a not very fancy but acceptable job. I have resigned from people. I have no outdoor hobbies. Mostly I play games and read or occasionally write stories here. They said I had talent in music, but I never had the perseverance to compose songs, and I eventually stopped playing any instrument as well. Thanks for letting me in.

I am Kris. 43, single male and have difficulty with Aspergers Syndrome. I am tired of making the same mistakes over and over again in my life (mostly of the financial variety). I am considered "book smart" but "life challenged" Formerly "Life dumb". I am fed up with being lonely and depressed and want to change but I cannot find anyone who truly understands me. Bible studies confuse me as I am getting conflicting information that challenges my already basic knowledge of the Bible and blows it clear out of the water. I used to be a high school history teacher who has had to switch careers and finds himself in an occupation that one would consider "decent" (Goodwill as a propane/production worker). I am still employed at Goodwill Unlimited, a local branch of the Goodwill stores that help people with disabilities find, retain, and advance in employment. I have had to move back home with my mother and step-father, and I just feel lost. I get frustrated so easily and have issues finding ways to "vent" without exposing myself as being "selfish" and "weak" to others. The school I used to teach at closed in May this year but I never had any closure when I felt I was forced to resign due to failing mental and physical health (Your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being's all interconnected).

I am not sure where God wants me to be. One time, He says, "Be a history teacher at this Christian school in Hamilton, Ohio and move there away from your mother to gain more independence" and then 5 years down the road, He closes that door and says, "I see you are not happy with the school and how you are being treated. so you need a long break to get your mind and heart right with Me, so resign your position, give it up, and come back home.}

Hi, I'm Dolphy Blue Drake, and I'm kinda an odd case.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was little, before they merged it into Autism. I have a brother who is actually Autistic, and I have none of his problems, and he doesn't seem to have any of mine, either, so I was upset when the merger happened, because I felt calling me Autistic was an insult to him, as he has way worse problems than I have.

Recently, while I was trying to get disability benefits due to multiple problems of mine, in the court hearing, when given all the information, the on-call specialist came to a diagnosis that I did in fact have Asperger's, but not Autism. He said that a case like me is reason enough to reopen the discourse on whether or not Asperger's should really be considered part of Autism.

So, I have Asperger's, but I'm not on the spectrum.

I was diagnosed with PDA when I was very young and only recently was it considered part of ASD. According to what my mother has told me.

Even though I have it myself, I can never seem to remember or even pay attention towards the symptoms. I don't have anyone that outright says they have Autism, but you might find some characters that behave like they have it in my stories (It's probably me slipping a bit of myself into them subconsciously).

Although... I have been thinking about a Final Fantasy crossover that has a secondary theme about the struggles of being disabled. A self-loathing tragic villain in the first chapter would have Autism and it'll be their only chapter outside of some very small parts in a 15 chapter story.
