Lately, Princess Cadance has been feeling inadequate. She's spoken of this briefly to Twilight Sparkle but her longing for a grand adventure is really starting to get to her as are the thoughts that she isn't doing all that she can.
[Poetry] In a land with no heroes, two goddesses seek to defeat the tyrant known as Tirek who has been stealing the magic of ponykind. Only there is no glory as their broken sorority hangs in the balance of a war-ravaged land.
Luna visits Cadance with an important question on her mind. Cadance is always happy to help out a fellow princess, especially if that princess is her friend, but she isn't sure why Luna of all ponies would need her help, if she can help at all...
Personally, Celestia has had few surprises — oh, there were a few: the unexpected return of her dear sister, Discord, the Crystal Empire's, and Tirek's escape. But most things, she finds, are nice and calculated... until now.
Canterlot is silent and Celestia stands alone, weapon ready as she stalks her greatest foe yet in the dawn hours. Will she fight a monster or risk becoming one?
Tomorrow, Cadance will turn six hundred and forty eight. Luna decides to visit her ahead of time, in her dreams. One thing is for certain: it will be an unforgettable night.
