By sheer chance, Hitch discovers that Sparky's egg came with a note. Upon reading it, he discovers a familiar name as the author of the note: Spike.

Once informed of this discovery, Sunny realizes that Spike must know what happened to Equestria that caused the pony tribes to become divided. She subsequently recruits all of her friends to join her on a journey to see the old dragon.

When the five mares finally do meet with Spike, they'll be surprised to learn his reason behind sending Sparky to Maretime Bay. And Spike will shed light on how the utopia Princess Twilight created came undone.

Flash Sentry has just returned from helping the Crystal Empire fight off a huge attack from the Windigos. Flash starts reminiscing about his life and how amazing it has been. Especially since he will soon be crowned the next Prince of Equestria because his has married the ruling monarch.

He is tired and just wants to see Twilight again...

When Joanne's parents force her to move to a new town and attend Canterlot High School, she wonders about a lot of things...

Starting with giant robot attacks, "Cutie Mark Emblems," and the local 'hooker boots' footwear style.

Starlight Glimmer ran a small village of ponies she convinced to give up their destinies. She also tried to rip apart the most important friendship in all Equestria. But here she was, her first night in a castle with the same princess who convinced her to abandon her revenge in return for friendship. Now that things were settling, she can't seem to believe that she's being pardoned for her actions. Luckily, Twilight is there to help her resolve these thoughts.

Twilight despises grasping at the dark as much as she despises a starless sky. But it was a part of her life that it seemed she could not get rid of; her role in this world tells her just as much. Now that the lights have gone out on her once more, Twilight’s desperation for a spark to lead her to the truth has grown, forgetting the fact that the Sun is also a star—one that is withholding all the answers she is looking for.

A more dramatic twist to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 4.

Starlight isn't a child person. But Sunburst is.

She was not good enough for him.

That was the thought that stabbed through her mind as she watched Sunburst play with Flurry Heart, gently playing with the toddler in front of him, seeming enamored by him as they together danced around the Hearths Warming tree, the younger filly leading her husband around and pointing at the ornaments she put up.

Starlight was never like that with young kids.

Or what it means to be a parent.
