This story is a sequel to Crossed Gears

From the split in Crossed Gears, this is the story following Detective Copper Feather as he tries to deal with the entity that calls itself the Creator, in addition to trying to figure out how to stop the Other from taking this new world that he has decided to call home. But his new body isn't exactly thrilled to have him here, and without the stability of his other self to help shut it out, memories come knocking. Memories that plan to knock him down.

Author Note: This story isn't gonna make much sense if you haven't read the previous stories, but that's sort of the case with any sequels, isn't it?

A tale following Copper Feather as he tries his best to retire, but things aren't as simple as he'd like. He may be done with his job, but his job isn't done with him. Copper is put in a situation where he can either do a lot of good, or a lot of damage. More damage than he has already. Now he has a chance to fix things, to set things right.

Author Note: When I had originally started writing this I had been a bit hesitant to post it anywhere, not sure why. I'm not afraid of any sort of negative feedback, it's just I wasn't sure it was really...up to snuff, ya know? I tried to sort of get the characters right, and I feel I hit close enough.

Oh well. Shameless oc forcement into an alternate version of Equestria? I dunno. I rather enjoy steampunk, which is what I tried to hint at a bit... Though in the world that I've sort of set up, Equestria is more dependent on magic, rather than technology.

The story mostly takes place mostly in Ponyville in the beginning, with sort of flash backs to places that Copper has been, and things that he's done. Then it goes places, and gets rather crazy.

Twilight Sparkle and her friends are snowed into the library one evening, and they happen upon that rarest of specimens - a book Twilight doesn't recognise. However, the ancient tale of adventure and intrigue they find inside ends up shattering their worldview and sending them on an adventure of their own.

This is basically what came to my mind when I heard that Lauren Faust's original concept for the show was of a more arc-based, magical girl style (this turned out not to be true, but my mind ran with it anyway), but this story ended up a long way from magical girls and well into high fantasy by the time I started writing. Also draws on select Homestuck and Dungeons & Dragons themes, and plays with a lot of things the canon leaves unexplained.

Tag update: Reduced character tags to Mane 6, CMC, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. While the Mane 6 and CMC provide most of the ensemble cast, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are the primary viewpoint characters.

This IS a crossover between the anime Sword Art Online, and MLP. This is also my first multi-chapter fic, so if there are any recommendations with pacing, themes of either show, etc, feel free to mention them. Luna with the past of Nightmare Moon lives in Hion until an unexpected airship crash. Owner of the airship, Sweetie Belle (18 years old) is a survivor of the crash with Applebloom(19 years old). Luna agrees to help them survive in the darklands until the airship is fixed. Not long after an enemy called the emperor drags Luna into the conflict and in order to survive, Luna must use her power of Nightmare Moon.
