Pinkie Pie has been recruited by Princess Celestia herself to fill in for a sick tuba player for the upcoming orchestra concert in Canterlot. But when she's having trouble with some of the music, the only one who can help her is... Fluttershy?

The inevitable effect of time has hit Ponyville full-force, and with it the trials and tribulations of having to let friends go. Slowly the Mane 6 have drifted away from one another, focused solely on their ever-ascending careers, until only Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy remain. The experiance of letting go again and again has hardened Pinkie's emotions, but when they both meet on a quiet river and bring up the subject, will Fluttershy be able to keep her composure?

This is my first attempt at fan fiction, my usual game is short prose and poetry. My first rodeo with pre-established characters and non-strange storytelling might be rough. I didn't want to do anything particularly long or ambitious.

Against all advice to the contrary, Pinkie has plans for Hearts & Hooves day. So does Fluttershy.
