(This fic was written in response to a kind-of-sort-of challenge... dare... thing... from an Equestria Daily pre-reader.)

The hardest part of Rarity's life, is knowing her sister is never coming back

A/N: First time writing a story, so lay it on me thick. And make sense; if you favorite it, like it. Don't over-think this, it's just something I wanted to write.

Princess Celestia tires of constantly being surrounded by decorum, deference, and formality, and decides to take a day off from being Princess. But visiting Ponyville incognito is harder than she expects. Will she be able to fit in and make friends without blowing her cover?

Some secrets need to be kept, and others need to be set free; but sometimes, not even the Element of Honesty can tell the difference. How do you tell your family the truth about something that you can't even admit to yourself? When Applejack begins to realize that she may have feelings for a friend, she needs to find the courage to accept who she really is before she can truly be happy.

The Elements of Harmony are six of the closest friends in all of Equestria. But when a sudden tragedy strikes down one of the elements, how will the other five be able to handle their lives? Will they find the strength in themselves and each other, or will their inability to cope cause more tragedy for the group?

"It's called 'Shh'," said Fluttershy. "It's a game about who can be quiet the longest. Sound fun? I'm the world champion."

Fluttershy is not a pony who makes things up. She really is the world champion of "Shh," or The Quiet Game. And now it's time for her to defend her crown, with Twilight Sparkle and Rarity along for the ride.

Fluttershy ends up spending all morning feeding the animals, and finds she has run out of food at home. Heading into Ponyville, the shy mare finds a fearsome storm is moving in, and finding an open shop is going to be tricky!

In the Swayback Mountains, a violent storm and its aftermath force Rarity and Applejack to reappraise their feelings for each other.
