In the year 1011 ALB, Queen Chrysalis declared war on Equestria. She and her High Command believed that the Equestrians would be easily crushed underneath the treads of their tanks and pushed back by their powerful changeling rifles. However, they were quickly proven wrong as their forces met the heavily fortified positions of the Equestrian military. After months of a painful stalemate, the High Command had a brilliant idea. They began deploying infiltrators into the Equestrian fortifications to weaken and surprise the defenders for the oncoming attackers.

One particular changeling was deployed to an Equestrian fortification, weeks in advance. On the promised day, he sits in a trench, waiting for the arrival of his brothers and sisters. But, will they come? And what happens to the mare that he became friends with if they do come?

The following story takes place in the Equestria at War universe. It contains no real spoilers for any nation, and does not require any prior knowledge of EaW to understand. Enjoy!

Though Queen Chrysalis knew that changelings could live almost anywhere, she was still surprised to hear about an isolated island nation of changelings on the other side of the world. This was quite the interesting development, as she was currently waging war with Equestria.

She had wondered if these foreign changelings might be interested in helping with her subjugation of ponykind. Though she had long since dissolved her diplomatic channels due to perceived incompetence, Chrysalis wanted to send some form of emissary to ask them to aid her cause.

And thus she sent one of her spies to visit Greneclyf, the island of harmonious changelings.

Over the years the occasional bit of inspiration strikes, and I decided to put them all in one place rather than all over gdocs and my computer's documents. Generally, no chapter is related to any others, and they're intended to stand on their own.
I should put some of those greentext-esque stories into a more readable format, too. Eventually, the procrastinator said.

Finger Knit, a loyal soldier of the Equestrian resistance, finds himself in a fight for his values when he is taken mid-operation and thrust against the Changeling's ultimate weapon against such groups, the Special Ambassadors.

Being brought back from death by his supporters and overthrowing Cadance has given Sombra a valuable hoofhold in Equestria. Yet to stand against his enemies, he might have to offer the unthinkable to a questionable ally.

Can a diabolic king survive a devilish queen?

1002. Following a successful attack against Canterlot, the sudden changeling invasion strikes hard. Although the Element Bearers and the Princesses managed to escape, the tide of insectile horses ravages Northern Equestria.

In response, the nations of the world, including the Avalon Republic (a human nation), declare war on the Changeling Empire, and muster troops. Across the southern stretches of Equestria, changelings battle an alliance of ponies, humans, griffons, hippogriffs, zebras, and Saddle Arabians. Millions clash in trench warfare that extends from the San Palomino Desert to the Hayseed Swamps. The prize; a continent's enslavement or it's freedom. But which side is more willing to make the final sacrifice?

Will have references and uses of weapons in Battlefield 1. Is partially inspired by the Great Martian War of 1913-1917, a fictional but serious documentary. Story is written as a historical narrative, with some third person points of view at some points.

The HMS Thunder Child was a warship built in the final years of an "eternal" peace. This meant that when war broke out, she'd already been in service for eighteen years.

It was thought that a ship this old and designed with peace in mind would not be ideally suited to the rigors of modern war. These notions were left absolutely shattered when the warship performed her duties with exception, becoming known as one of the most effective vessels in the entire Equestrian navy.

However, the warship faced her greatest challenge, when she and her task force encountered a combined fleet of Changeling and Olenian vessels near Vanhoover. A fleet which held the potential of severing the fragile supply lines the Thunder Child was tasked to defend.

This story follows the point of view of three separate figures involved in this fateful skirmish; an admiral unsure of his command, a captain in desire of glory, and a mechanic disillusioned with his life in the navy.

The Zeppelin was the source of inspiration for many ponies of the past, but after the Equestrian government decided to abruptly ban them after an accident, their inventor Altarya Skarya is willing to make a voyage around the globe to prove once and for all the safety and reliability of the zeppelin.

But it seems like some would rather not have that happen...

Equestria has suffered through it's first war in over a thousand years. The ponies overcame Chrysalis and her changeling swarm, but only through a desperate alliance with communist Stalliongrad. Now, with a fragile peace under looming threats, the ponies of Equestria call into question the leadership of the alicorn sisters. Celestia has a difficult decision before her. What will she do?

And considering the queen's recent warmongering maneuvers, the safety of Equestria could very well depend on her mission...

This is a story set in the universe of Equestria at War, after the changeling conquest of Olenia and before the attack on Equestria. It was written for the Equestria at War writing contest.
