Judging by the lack of reports on a miraculous wave of healing energy sweeping across the world from the International Date Line, the new year won't automatically make everything better. But being better than 2020 isn't just a low bar to clear, it's an archeological dig to even find the bar. We sure as hell didn't see this year coming, but let's do what we can to make next year that much better. Here's to what may come.
I raise my bottle of Coke in agreement. Here's to a better year
In before 2021 robot uprising:
If they can dance, they can fight.
I've been bracing myself all day for 2020's last swing.
But we're almost there. Onward and upward, to 2021. I hope it's a good one for you, FoME!

"I smiled way too much at this."
-A problem I wish I had more often this year. Thank you!

Oh No. I hate to tell you this, but I'm from the future, and Coke is banned in 2021.
May the Force be with us all.

Hah XD
It was already 2021 when i posted my salute, so i must have been breaking the law before i knew it
Happy new year! Here's to nondescript benignity.
Still have a few more hours for the Final Boss of 2020 to appear.
2020 took a few cheap shots on me, but I'm hoping to start some new stuff next year. Here's to a better, happier New Year for everyone.
How could it possibly be worse?

Don’t jinx it!

I'm being pro-actively non-superstitious!

The Universe: Hold my beer and watch this.
Everyone Who Has Ever Watched a Movie: Damn it universe, that's what you say every time!
I think we can agree to cheer this
"F 2020" or whatever equivalent you'll say
IISAW, it can always get worse
Hear hear! Cheers!
It's weird, and this may get some downvotes, but 2020 was par for the course for me. Most of the year, on a day to day basis, was me sitting in my room, working on my laptop, slowly trying to regain some sanity.
This was not so different from the period where I was unemployed and facing a depression. In fact, it was a step up, because I was finally being productive.
In turn, this was also a step up from college, where I had the same flipped up daily rhythm, with less sleep and occasional bouts of stress as well as having to type out a thesis.
So yeah, 2020 was not that bad comparatively. Still pretty bad in other ways, particularly procrastination-wise, but enough about that. It's 2021 now, it's a new day, a new year. We might see a shift in thinking about work and life in general, even if we don't have to suffer that Great Reset malarkey that's done the rounds.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is: 2020 was full of shit. So spread that shit on your fields and grow some pretty flowers, if you can. Good things can come out of a bad situation. Take stock of what's happened, re-evaluate, see what you can do and what needs to be done if you can't go to a positive place yet. I know it's hard, it's been hard and it'll probably be hard in the near future, but take it from someone who's had longer stretches of similar difficulty (at least in terms of time use, can't speak for the mourning): you can work through it and come out of it better. There's no catch-all solution or universal advice, but just know this hardship is not new. It can be overcome.
Also, FoME, cut me some slack, okay? You know my powers haven't returned yet, and even if they did, I'm a wizard first, not a cleric. I wouldn't even know who to pact for as a warlock to pull a Healing Wave of that size. Check your non-wizard privilege, you entitled son a gun
May 2021 be better for all of us!
Hip hip hurray for a Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year! :)
