I've been receiving some strong signals that a certain scene early on in FiMC was well received, and it made me wonder: how did you stumble across the story, and which scene was your favourite? Discuss!

I stumbled across something that catered to my fascination with mind control, but was also intelligently written and not afraid to ask hard questions about culpability and consent while still being enjoyably raunchy. By the time I had caught up, I was hooked, and had a genuine appreciation for the intelligence of the story and its writer.

Searching fimfiction for a 'mind control for sex' story.

I frequent the Hypnosis and Mind Control group, which is where I discovered FiMC. I still consider it one of the best (likely even the best) stories I've read to date from what I've discovered from that group.

As for my favorite scene? Weeeellllll.... It's kind of a toss-up between a number of scenes, honestly!

The first one, chronologically, would be the scene between Applejack and Rarity during Chapter 7, involving the latter with the maid outfit and the shenanigans that followed.

The second scene is the chapters immediately following Twilight's first, failed attempt to indoctrinate Celestia, setting the stage for the second half of the story. I cannot begin to describe how excited I was that the story was far from over at that point, and the tone it set for the remainder of the story was phenomenally well done, having me on the figurative edge of my seat for months afterward.

The third and last scene I'd consider would be the steamy moment Twilight and Luna shared in the forest after Twilight's memories were restored, and Trixie enthralled. I've really enjoyed the relationship that has developed between Twilight and the lunar princess over the course of both stories, and this scene, although not as tender as some of the others that came afterward, was still one of my favorites.

I was a fan of Skywriter's non-pony works. He linked his story 'Contraptionology' on a webcomic he writes for not long after I started watching the show. I enjoyed it and started poking around the site, eventually getting an account. This may have led to a tiny little crippling addiction. My tastes are pretty broad, but I've found myself gravitating toward shipping over time. My broad tastes also included mature stuff, but I prefer a hefty mix of plot with my sex. I then found out that porn and philosophy of mind are like chocolate and peanut butter for me. Thanks for that.

Edit: Bugger me, I thought it read 'How did you find FimFic'. I don't know how I found the story. I was enjoying the mind control kink, but what first made me sit up and take notice was the conversations Twi had with Rarity early in the fic. Mixing conversations about personhood and continuity of consciousness with the kink sold me. And watching Twilight slowly succumb to her desire and seeing her justify it to herself was great. I'm a philosophy nerd who loves great storytelling and kinky sex. If you didn't write this I might have wanted to.

Honestly I just stumbled upon it and it seemed interesting. I stuck with it because I enjoyed how it was clop with an interesting story.

I don't quite recall how I came across it, but I was intrigued by the concept and the very positive rating it had. I went into that fic with the thought of making me feel conflicted, because sometimes I like to read fics that make me feel bad (as in morally bad because Twilight be enslaving you) and I figured this fic would provide.

Then it turned into a story that I couldn't get enough of, with hot and more importantly intelligent clop and I constantly want more of it :p.

My favourite bits are bondage and humiliation. So of course, the AJ bondage bits were great, along with the Trixie spanking bits and Celestia's chapter was like icing on the cake (too bad there wasn't any actual using/abusing of their willing sex toy)

Having caught up on FiMC, I then branched out into selected other stories on here - I've never actually seen the show.

I found it after a search, I can't recall exactly what I entered, but I found your story. I was immediately pulled in not by the Twilight-enslaving-everypony part, though that was definitely fascinating, but the fact that you're writing clop, yet not just for the sake of it. There was character development, how Twilight fought with herself over what she was doing, how she tried to justify every action. This is all excellent elements to a story (of course the action bits with taking down Celestia was a ride of it's own, too!) and the clop-kink stuff was a bonus.

Tried several times, but I can't decide on a favourite scene. It only comes down to chapters I like slightly less.

Mind Control is my fetish, so I scan pretty much any story that ends up in the associated group.

It's extremely rare that you get quality prose or a well put together plot in these stories, plus you consistently updated big meaty chapters with mind control in basically every one.

Favorite scene is easily Fluttershy's chapter, followed by the one with Cheerilee. I like the situation and making ponies believe things or be made into something they aren't more than I do actual bondage or sex scenes (though submission has it's appeal. I did like the scene with Luna in the clearing).

While I obviously first read this for pornographic reasons, I really do appreciate the quality. Tons of spelling/grammar errors or terrible dialogue or nonsensical motivations are turnoffs. At this point I'd stick with the story to the end just to know what happens even if you said it would no longer be a clopfic.

3924922 I had two themes in mind, when writing FiMC. The first is, well, mind control smut is the best. But the second was exploring what happens when a person that is fundamentally good receives this kind of power over those around them. I've really enjoyed the journey of Twilight developing her desires, uncovering her fetishes, and coming to all sorts of compromises between what she wants and what's left of her eroding morals.

3924932 I'm interested that you were attracted to the stress of UNM Twilight. As the arc progressed, I did consider it possible I was pushing the tension to levels that were higher than the average reader might be comfortable with. I'm glad people held on.

3924980 It's interesting that you've not seen the show itself. The story assumes a certain level of familiarity with the characters, and I'm pleased that it held up even without that.

3924984 I think that if Twilight didn't care about what she was doing or why, I couldn't have written nearly as much about her as I have. It's the tension between what she wants and what she thinks is right (or used to think is right) that drives a lot of her actions.

3924992 The nice thing about the Cheerilee scene was that, as it wasn't Twilight's doing, there was no moral complexity from the viewpoint character. Just ponies being reprogrammed into behaving in ways they never, ever would under normal circumstances. That's something I just adore. As for the spelling and grammar, I liked to think I was pretty good at it, but I've improved a lot with Setokaiva's corrections since they took over proofing about a third of the way through FiMC. No matter how hard I look, I always miss something!

I found it by accident. The cover art (skorpDK) is what caught my attention and thought (it's either clickbait or good entertainment.)
I don't have so much a favorite seance so much as a time period. From when Twilight first uses it on AJ to before her first encounter with P-Celestia. The time frame when she uses it to begin to feel sensations selfishly first time since she's spends so much time being a good pony and study-study-study to her hearts content. It's a virginal quality of her behavior. She's a little pony with a big pony's toy she shouldn't have, but has it anyway.

As for favorite scenes... Well, I very much enjoyed the unaware parts. Especially the one with Fluttershy in her focusing chapter, and the one with Applejack in... chapter seven, yes, right the start of the chapter.

I found this story because it was posted to the MC group, and started reading back when it had like two chapters. The quality of writing and the style of mind control had me instantly hooked, and it's easily my favorite fic on the site.
As far as my favorite scenes go, I really like unaware and non-consensual stuff, so Ch. 4, 11, 12, 17 were my favorite. Another thing I love is when Twilight experiments with the charm; both the interesting things she discovers, and the way she uses ponies as test subjects, is very arousing. In particular, that series of chapters 11-13 were my personal highlight of the stories' sexy factor. I really liked seeing Fluttershy, Luna and Zecora enthralled. The fic following UNM has been excellent story wise and the sex is still very well-written of course, but nothing yet has quite done it for me the same way as 11/12.

In my personal imaginings I hoped that Twilight would do to Luna what she did to Rarity back in the beginning of the fic, letting her continue to believe she's some sort of moral guardian when in fact she has been charmed to agree with all of Twilight's actions. Sorta like the Reasonable Request, I love it when characters think they're in control when in fact they're dancing on puppet strings.

The statistics page for FiMC reveals some interesting data as well, if you didn't already know about it. Looks like a lot of referrals come from the Equestria After Dark article you had written, a full 4,500 hits according to Fimfiction. Pretty good! I also like looking at the data for when each chapter was published, which shows where the story got lots of views. Looks like the most viewed pre-UNM chapter was 12, then UNM's best was 22 (by a HUGE margin, likely got featured or something), then The Game Ends/Consequences for the ending.

I'm not certain how I found it, to be honest. I suspect I found it when it was featured on the main page one day, but it's just as likely I found it while browsing through assorted clop on the site, either in some group or linked to in the lists to the side of the page while I looked at some other story. However I found it, I saw that it involved mind control and I was pretty well instantly curious.

Favourite scene....that's a tough one. I'm gonna have to go with after Twilight's memory was wiped from her first confrontation with Celestia. Perhaps it's an odd segment to choose, but just the idea not knowing what you've done, being controlled by somebody without being allowed to know it, and then finding messages and/or evidence to show that potentially everything you think your life has been up to this point has been fabricated really got a strong reaction from me, not to mention the part about being unable to trust anybody. Just trying to imagine being in that kind of situation freaked me out and I loved it. Anything that can twist me into knots like that is good in my mind. I suppose in general, the twisting into knots from Twilight's combination of guilt and lust (and by extension, my own) worked well for me.

I believe I found it just browsing new stories and it caught my eye.

My favorite scenes are anything with applejack (especially when she calls herself Twilights toy or slut), the scene of Fluttershy being a puppy right before the orgy (and all scenes with her after that), the mane 6 orgy, and all the scenes of Twilight under Celestia's control. I enjoy degrading scenes the most, whether the participant realizes it or not (though I prefer Fluttershy when she does).

I'll be honest, I don't care really about any of the scenes with the focus being on Luna, Trixie, Zecora or Celestia (as the one being controlled that is.) I don't really care for Luna or Celestia as characters on their own, and nothing really degrading has happened, at least no in front of an audience. The scene with Celestia at the beginning of the sequel was alright, but it was rather tame, with the best bit being the pinkie section.

Zecora has potential but with all the mention of her piercings, nothing really kinky has happened either with them. I'd like to see them applied to someone else, That's why the Twilight shaving scene is so good. Changing someones body shows you have ultimate control over them.

I'll be honest, I really don't care for Trixie. Not because she's badly written, I just don't find her to be a character I've ever liked. I would like to see more puppet stuff though. That scene wasn't bad, but it was very mild, which made scenes considering what was going on at the time.

I also discovered it through the Hypnosis/MC-group, and it is currently my second favorite MC-centered story on this site (yes, I read almost every MC-story on this site ). It was a fantastic story through and through. The whole story felt really well-structured; I always had the feeling that you had it all planned out from the beginning. Not only that, but there were also a lot of exciting scenes and plot twists, it never became predictable to me and I was always at the edge of my seat while reading. You also did a really great job with making each MC-scene feel different from one another. A lot of fetish-stories start to get repetitive after a while, but you always managed to mix it up with something new and exciting. And you posted updates pretty frequently and consistently, which is pretty rare on this site. So all in all, you did an outstanding job and I'm really glad that I found this story
As for favorite scenes, I loved the parts where Twilight got mind controlled by Celestia or someone else. I find the perspective out of a person that's beeing controlled to be much more interesting, personally. The story just got me going and I found the more I looked into it the more I found myself looking deeper into it.
Applejack getting affected was a start but as the story picked up I was finding myself looking for the next event the team will have once all 6 got affected I had the feeling the rest of the world was next.
the battle with her teacher was the best and I was on my seat looking for how she get out of it, But Twilight had a back up plan when I read that my mind was saying WHat in the World!.

I came across it through the Mind Control/Hypnosis group because I was looking for a well written adult story. Which it delivered in spades. Even while I read chapter to chapter waiting for the grand finale to happen with Celestia. I was always wondering what was going to happen.

As for favorite chapters or scenes. It's really hard to say, as I don't mind dark natured stuff. So I think emotional wise it was the fact that Twilight had learned to at least give each of them an opinion in all of it. Just to see each of their reactions like Applejack's and Rarity's. The interesting one was Luna's to see how she was played by Celestia. Even the point of Rarity and Zecora pretty much being stuck in it was well done and kind of touching in a way.

Now if you mean it the down right dirty stuff. Oh boy... that's even harder to really decide as it really played different roles well. Even the whole Celestia toying with Twilight scenes was well done. I'm really waiting for some of the bigger scenes to come in the sequel to see how Twilight gets a little respectful payback beyond the cursory taste at the beginning. There is a lot of 'roles' I can see being played with just those two and maybe Luna. So... who know how that all will play out.

I found your story through trawling through the most recent additions in terms of anthro stories at the time. While I like mind control stories when they're good, I was never actively seeking a story with it in mind. At the time of finding I think there were only 6 chapters and when you see little waiting time in between chapters together with excellent writing you just don't let go.

As for a scene that stuck with me, I think it would have to be Rarity's foot worship under the table early on in the story. I don't really enjoy anything feet-related to be honest, but Twilight's almost casual acceptance of Rarity's subservience really got me. Also, those bells man. It may not have been the lengthiest scene but it felt like a turning point to me and it gave me an idea of just how far your story was going to go and that thrilled me.

Also, while it isn't a scene, what I think I like the most about your stories so far is Twilight's sexual growth and how we get to see what she feels and discovers through her eyes. The journey from innocent to obsessive through new-found power feels like a journey we've all shared with Twilight, and being able to experience it with her through your writing has been... emotional to say the least.

I've been meaning to write something about your work for a long time but I never got round to it until now. I could write a lot more on what I've liked and to a far lesser extent what I haven't. I hope though that this comment has gone some way towards making my enjoyment of your work known and urged you to hopefully never stop writing. For anything.

Stumbled into it during one of its front-page stints, or possibly a related terms search: Not positive. As for favorites... I found myself most drawn to the directly sexual scenes, as opposed to the ongoing back-and-forth mind games and tests of dominance*. A specific favorite is the opening chapter's broad "Toy Celestia" scene in the sequel, because it hits so many different buttons in fairly rapid succession without sacrificing quality.

*- And about the dramatic elements: That's not to say you write them poorly, it's just a matter of my preference: I enjoy mind control as a fetish, but really don't enjoy it as a plot device / dramatic conceit. This is a story that's fairly difficult to read just for its smut, however, and you manage to make the drama and the plotting work better than most, which is high damn praise given my stances on the matter.

As for my favourite parts, well... that would be every scene with some kind of physical restraints (including orders not to move) in it. See, I love mind-control, and I love bondage (and anthro, heh), but relatively few stories use both elements; reason being that it's generally not required to bind a victim further once it's already your mind-slave. How could I not jump at a story who wove these two things I love together so masterfully?

Especially the parts where the slave is ordered to present her tits. Or where they're ordered to insult themselves (I also love humiliation). Applejack's first time submitting to Twilight come to mind; ordered to grab her ass and helpless to prevent her new owner from doing whatever she wants to her sizeable breasts. You can blame the Great Derpsby for this one. I was going through his favorites out of boredom (I get bored too easily) and I stumbled upon your fic. I was a bit reluctant at first, but I decided to give it a go. My running commentaries say the rest. Because you go above and beyond the call of clop, you don't make just a clopfic, you make a story with a heavy focus on clop, but it's not all there it, it is a genuinely engaging story.

I came across it while looking through the list of all stories in order by length, because in my experience longer stories are more likely to be good quality. Read the first chapter or two and was promptly hooked.

My top favorite scenes are actually the ones with climactic resolutions of major story points, even when sex is not involved. Chapters 29 and 30 in particular I've read several times.

Close runners up are the sex scenes that prominently feature mind control as an integral part of the mechanics of the scene, not just a reason for why the characters in question are participating - where mind control is used to achieve effects that, even with full consent, simply would not be possible otherwise. The top example effects that come to mind are lack of awareness, and characters actively doing things they are trying to not do - or, in combination, characters actively doing things without being aware of doing them. Chapter 4 with unaware Applejack is a strong contender there, along with some of Twilight's scenes early in Under New Management before she regains her memories. Trixie constantly confessing her lies and treacherous plans is also a great recurring thing.

More generally about why I found the story as a whole so good, I really appreciate that you kept the characters true to themselves and treated the whole thing seriously. It's far too common to see characters that seem just caricatures that exist solely to justify sex, and for the sex to result from some ridiculous obvious contrivance, and that just puts me off as low quality writing. In FiMC, however, everything follows naturally and seems highly realistic, leaving aside the basic setting of ponies and magic.

It also helps a lot that, for all her faults, mistakes, and struggles with temptation, Twilight is fundamentally a good pony at heart. I don't like having to suspend my sense of moral judgement in order to enjoy something, and having the mind controller be at least trying to do the right thing (when her willpower is up to it) makes it much easier to just read and enjoy. Focusing Zecora was a major low point in the story for me for this reason. Still hot and sexy, but much more conflicting to read.

Incidentally, for some reason I've been imagining a lot how Trixie's six months choice might go, and I ended up with a set of decisions that superficially seem self-contradictory, yet make perfect sense when explained. For one thing, rejecting "be Twilight's slave" but accepting "obey Twilight when she says she really means it". Would you have any interest in me typing up what I've come up with for that?

I've also thought about what might happen with Cadence if Twilight actually explains everything, charm and all, and settled on Cadence giving Twilight the chance to prove it's all consensual but insisting that she does prove it - as definitively as possible, starting with a demonstration of the charm's rules on a freshly charmed subject of Cadence's choice. And Cadence chooses (without revealing it until the scheduled demonstration time has arrived) Shining Armor.

I know I found the story through the Featured list, but I don't remember exactly when. It caught my eye for a number of reasons: mind control is my jam, the story description is amazing, and most importantly, I think it's the first MC story I've come across that deals with the corruption of the dominant. There are many that detail slow descents by the controlled, but everything else I know of from the perspective of the controller is just "I now have/have always had MC powers, watch as I control people." As a result, I really love the "absolute power corrupts absolutely" angle of this story. That being said, I'm personally hoping for a combination of Luna's influence and learning from Celestia's mistakes to lead to !Benevolent/HornyDictatorTwilight rather than !EvilOverlordTwilight.

Regarding favorite scene, from a clop perspective it would be Twilight getting shaved by Celestia's guards. It hit a lot of buttons for me, including "this is how I mark ponies as mine" and the "everything you see is perfectly normal" thing. For non-clop, everything from On Reflection to Focusing Trixie I loved. Twilight's commands to !FocusedTrixie are great, and show how much she's learned from her past imprecision. The whole memory cubes/alter-ego debate concept is amazingly creative. Plus, I have to cheer for Twilight taking back her autonomy.

That being said, I don't want to give the impression that other arcs of the story are sub-par just because my favorite clop and non-clop segments are the same. It is phenomenal start-to-finish, and I am sure FiMC:C will be just as good. Cheers!
