A year out from death and another heart complication later, it's time for her to accept her fate... but not until she fulfills her biggest dream yet:

Becoming a Wonderbolt.

Now, Princess Twilight and the gang are on a mission to sneak her into the grueling Wonderbolt Invitational, a trans-continental Grand Prix where the winner is immediately selected for a one-way ticket to stardom. It's the envy of every daredevil speedster around, and every pegasus and griffon around is gearing up for their chance to prove themselves as they engage in speed, agility, and endurance challenges around the globe.

The problem is: Rainbow Dash, Gilda, and the fiercest flyers from around the world are competing too... and all of them want to win more than anything.

That, and she'll need some wings. Those are kind of important.

For as long as she can remember, Scootaloo has hated her mother. She hated the mare who left her behind on the Ponyville Orphanage steps without a backwards glance. She hated her mother for leaving her father to suffer a life without either of them. She hated that selfish coward who couldn't stand to look upon her own baby's weak little wings and be proud of the daughter she had foaled, come what may. She hated her for everything, for she was the mare who ran away.

She's the same mare Scootaloo's running to now, the same mare about whom she'll learn the truth surrounding her abandonment.

Fluttershy has always been a timid pony. It was a truth long accepted until the day she met her one and only love: that stallion who cared for her, protected her, and sheltered her from any harm... a stallion as quiet and as shy as she was.

In his embrace she grew, learned, laughed, and loved. She reached out further into the world than she ever had before, and with his support she became that mare she always dreamed she could be.

Now, as she stands overlooking the world, her memories of their times together will keep her warm when his hooves no longer can. With her final hours and the remembrance of their life together, her life will slowly fall back into place. With his confidence and her love, nothing can shake her. Now, at the end of everything, does she understand how it all went wrong.

What she doesn't understand, however, is that she's wrong about everything.
