"You bought me a star!"

How do you break away from a relationship when your other half is willing to buy the stars for you? Rainbow Dash doesn't know. But she does know some things. Like the fact that she needs to be free, like the stars. And that Twilight is trying to collect the stars.

Rainbow also knows that Twilight won't be able to change her ways. And when she begins to fall for another free spirit, it is very hard not to simply cut the ropes holding her back from the freedom she desires.

An AU in which there are two separate changeling hives threatening Canterlot just before the big Royal wedding, and their rulers have developed very similar methods of invasion. King Metamorphosis and Queen Chrysalis, rivals for years, are about to collide under very different, compromising circumstances.

Meanwhile, can Twilight and her friends stop this dual invasion in time?

At last, here is the spur-of-the-moment story of what happened when Twilight Sparkle received the letter Discord had tinkered with.

I'd advise you read No Joking Matter first, since the events in this story happened at the same time as the events in No Joking Matter.

When Discord hears that his botanical creation, poison joke, continues to flourish in the Everfree, he simply cannot resist a good prank. Poison joke in hand, he storms Canterlot Castle.

Needless to say, the princesses are not impressed. But then, neither is Discord, since the joke also has an unexpected effect on him. And none of them know the cure.

After an argument, Rainbow Dash and Applejack decide to hold another Iron Pony competition. But Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Princess Twilight and even Fluttershy decide to get in on the contest, and the competition builds into a fierce battle to prove that they can beat each other at their individual talents. But pitting the six of them against each other in contests of flying or worse, dressmaking, could be a very bad idea...

Scootaloo's desire to fly leads her to make a desperate wish on a shooting star. The next morning she wakes up- and everything has changed. Her wish has come true- but not in the way she expected. And Rainbow Dash is less than impressed by the effects of the wish on her...

But another pony in Ponyville has made the same wish, and this complicates things a whole lot more.

I, Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Magic, have all I've ever dreamed of. But always fresh in my mind is the spell which threw my friend's destinies into disarray. After mistakenly recasting it, my strengthened alicorn magic means that not only am I also affected, but my friends have switched not only cutie marks, but species too.

Why does the idea of Pinkie Pie with wings not appeal to me?

And why has Fluttershy suddenly become so loud?

The Elements of Harmony bind Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash together, but none, not even Celestia, understand how deep these ties go.
After the tragic death of one of the six, their friends mourn, but life goes on for the remaining five.

Rarity finds that she is a very rare type of pony, a Marshmallow pony, which are born only once every millenium, their births marked out by the stars. But some strange ponies in armour appear in Ponyville, demanding that Rarity come with them at once. After she refuses, they attempt to take her by force. Rarity is vital to them, but why?
