Currently suffering from terminal brainrot.

T

In the year 1009, the changelings are on the march. To secure more resources for her war machine Queen Chrysalis now seeks to extort the Polar Confederation for their reserves of gold and oil. A task force of warships has been dispatched to the north to ensure cooperation.

The bears are mighty warriors, but against the overpowering force of Changeling technology they stand little chance. With only a small and outdated war industry the Confederation cannot resist and will be forced to surrender in days.

At least, that's what the changelings think.

BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS! BEARS!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Best nation in EAW,. I really want to try naval bears one day. could be fun.

Behind him entered another bear, this one even bigger. He stood upright, wearing an admiral’s cap and a blue jacket with white stars on the lapels. His massive paws laid in a parade rest at his back, and as he looked around the bridge he brought one up to twirl his thick white mustache. He stepped over the Kommodore’s lifeless body as he walked to the center of the room, and the officers all backed away to keep their distance. Some eyed their nearest exits. A few reached for their sidearms with their magic, but none dared to draw on such a monster.

ITS THE BOI HIMSELF!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Paw Wellington, one of the BEST starting naval guys in the entire mod. (somehow)

If you can hold the frontline you will demolish the changelling army and gave them nasty debuffs.

“Admiral! Come quickly!”…

… Striding across the room he (Leptis) pushed aside his underlings and peered out the window to see what all the commotion was about…

… Less than a mile away to the southwest drifted a pack of icebergs. A column of black smoke rose into the air from behind them, silhouetted against the snow.

There was one - and only one - sound running through my head at this moment:

Pre-dreadnought Battleships were especially vulnerable to torpedoes, and fighting in fjords made it nearly impossible to miss (something the Germans found out in the Norway campaign). Changeling destroyers would have done better than a battlecruiser in this situation.

I had to think of this picture:

Good story!
I enjoyed reading it.

Probably why the bears sent those torpedo boats after the destroyer first

Step aside, Norwegians; taking out a modern battlecruiser with an outdated fort has just been replaced with a boarding action on a modern battlecruiser from a rusted outdated battleship for coolest, most badass “David vs Goliath” type story ever.

Seriously though, that battle has to be one of the most lopsided in the history of all naval battles; capturing a modern battlecruiser via a BOARDING ACTION, and sinking or destroying a cruiser, destroyer and destroyer escort with 6 torpedo boats and a rusted out, obsolete battleship for the loss of only ONE torpedo boat? Chrysalis is gonna be pissed, that’s for sure.

It’s a lot like the RN destroyers did during the second battle of Narvik, targeted the German destroyers to make way for Warspite to rampage down the Fjord. Did you (author) take inspiration from the battle by any chance?

11864753
Not specifically 2nd Narvik, but the Norwegian Campaign in general, yes. Lots of instances of close-quarters confusion there, makes for interesting battles!

11864742
Always did like those kinds of stories. Nothing like good ol' asymmetric warfare. Plus, what could be more in line with bear military doctrine than boarding actions?

Saw that one halfway through writing, Recina's such a cutie. Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you for reminding me to watch Greyhound... again.

Loving the enthusiasm!

I should write bears more often...
